While that works for a one-way sync, that seems kludgy to me. How do you make sure that when you edit a contact on your phone that it updates your Outlook?I tried My Phone Explorer and Companionlink and found both of them to be counterintuitive and just plain difficult. I like Google Calendar Sync (again - I keep nothing in my calendar that I would particularly mind anyone else knowing), and as for contacts - when I enter a new contact in Outlook, I make it a practice to email myself the vcard to my Gmail account so I can pull it into the phone. Same practice in reverse for new contacts I enter into the phone. As for tasks, I haven't yet found a good solution.
I don't find Companionlink counterintutive at all. You just install it on the PC and then from that point on everything sync's up automatically both ways. When I add or edit a contact or event either on my phone, google or my PC it updates all my devices. No action on my part is needed to keep everything in sync. Just install it, forget it and everything is synced.
