Help Blank screen, even on reboot

pmaljr

Lurker
Hi,

This afternoon, my phone screen went blank, even though the four buttons at the bottom would still light up when hitting the power button. I tried pulling the battery and rebooting, but the phone never showed anything on the screen but I could tell the light on the led was working. It will boot all the way to the home screen and I can take calls, as the touch screen piece is working. But, I can see nothing but the backlight on the screen. I then tried a factory reset using screenshots from the internet, but that hasnt worked either. After bypassing the activation using screenshots, the phone still has no display. I can take calls and I can hear audio and notifications when I receive calls or texts, but I am unable to see anything.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Thanks, Phillip

I have somewhat of a similar issue. I get a blank screen when I slide my keyboard open. Everything is lit up like it should be but no screen. However whenever I slide the keyboard closed I get my normal screen back. One thing I have noticed is that auto-rotate is not working in my home screen. In apps it will rotate but not on the home screen so I have to wonder if it might have something to do with one of the sensors? I'd be interested in anybody's 2 cents on this.

One possibility is that your display died. Sometimes the display can go while the touchscreen still works. If your still under warranty and are not rooted I would take it to a Verizon store or call Verizon's CSRs and see about getting it replaced (if the display is dead that is).

display is dead, but after 24 hours of running, it now works again, at least temporarily. I'm going to get a new one tomorrow.

Thanks!
