Help block contact

is there a way on the phone to select a contact and block that contact from text messages and or calls?

I thought there was on the Eris but I can't seem to find it again

If use use Chomp or Handcent, they have blacklisting options, but only for text messages. You can send a caller straight to VM by editing that part in their contact menu. If you have VZW, go online and for free you can block 5 callers from messaging you and texting you at all.

Under people, tap the contact, and there is an option to "Send to Voicemail" just turn that on.
