blocking android update check via router over WIFI

Is it possible to block the non-rooted android from checking for updates on WIFI by blocking the port(s) it uses via the router?.. what port or domain/site does it use to check for updates?.. my android is nagging the hell out of me to update. last update broke my phone. T-Mobile replaced it now it naggs the hell out of me every hour or so. very annoying to say the least. I'm running android 4.0.4 on LG optimus L9.

Turn off wi-fi and update via 4G. It's doubtful it's the router, you can always first try turning it on and off, if that doesn't work reset the router.
