Help Blocking ?

Please can you tell me if i can block a person from calling me and sending me txes on my Samsung A5? I have tried to do it through my phone but the calls go straight to my VM and the text messages go to a spam folder which I can see. I have also tried the Mr Number app which was usless also as it notified me when a message was sent and i could again see the measage. Any help would be apreciated Thank you
