Bluetooth and music

3 different people in this thread mention Motorola MOTOROKR S9 HD headphones - whereas the OP specifically asks for a headset, not headphones.

In defense of those three people, however, the S9 / S9 HD (which I also have a pair) work as both a set of stereo headphones and a headset - it has a built in mic as well, so you can actually make and receive calls on it as well.

That would be why they continue to suggest them (and with an original MSRP of $179.99 when first released, the S9 HDs can now be had for as little as $60 with some creative search-shopping - that's how much I paid for mine 4 months ago or so).

Once you hear the sound quality of those headsets, you'll understand why so many of us swear by them.
 
Hi Guys,

I have an HTC Incredible S (my second one, they don't like water) and I can't seem to get music to play through my SENA SMH10 (A2DP BlueTooth reciever). The most annoying this is that it works for phone calls but when I try to play music it just starts playing it out the speaker of the phone . Furthermore, This was working fine with my old phone (same model) and now it's not. Leads me to believe there is some sort of sortware missing from the new phone, does anyone have any ideas?

There should be a way to view the available bluetooth profiles for a device. I don't have any bluetooth devices with me to verify but check around in the bluetooth settings and make sure that you don't have only the bluetooth headset profile listed for your receiver.

Have you performed the standard first step of troubleshooting by power cycling everything?
 
i use a sony ericcson MW600...it's a little control unit BT dongle that you can plug in any 3.5mm standard headphone/earbud. you have the option of using only 1 earbud while i need to talk to people at work or if i'm working alone i have both in... the dongle has controls that work with the built in media player or pandora or audiogalaxy letting me pause, skip ahead, go back and pick up phone calls. it can even connect to 3 BT units at a time..so if you have a phone, an ipod, and your computer you can switch back and forth between them.
 
there is a new tool bluemusic that does the audio routing over bluetooth to a mono bluetooth headset and for the a2dp ones, also works with the carkit, they are all listed in the software if they are in the range and you can make a simple switching between them.
 
I would like to add to the discussion by saying that I use and highly recommend the Plantronics M50, which is probably the least expensive bluetooth headset that will do the normal cellphone calls AND push the audio/music sound (A2DP support) through the headset. I was looking for a headset a while ago that would do exactly what the OP was looking for, and found this headset after browsing through a bunch that did the A2DP but at much, much higher prices. The Plantronics M50 is less than $30 through Amazon and Newegg. I use it on my own stock OG Droid and it works flawlessly as a normal calling headset and as the occasional music player for me. It works with the Google Play Music and the Amazon MP3 apps, which are what I use, but I'm sure it'd probably work with other music player apps.
 
After a long hunt for a one ear model (Florida driving laws now allow wearing a headset, but only in one ear and only with a phone) that was A2DP capable, I finally found the Samsung HM1700. Pairs easily and connects flawlessly. I listen to podcasts all the time.
