Help Bluetooth Car pairing problem

Anyone else having bluetooth pairing issues with their car? My INC worked perfectly but I cannot sustain a connection for more than a minute. The car is an Audi Q5. Also, my phonebook cannot be imported.

Doesn't work in my 2010 Q7. My crappy eris worked fine, no problems, but the thunderbolt won't stay connected . I get a message, "Device is paired but not connected."

Yeah. Nothing like getting a $250 phone and then spending another $550 on a deck for your car just so you can use bluetooth.

That does seem odd that it doesn't work. Since the INC is made by the same Co. Wonder if they changed the radio in the TB.

My brother has a 2010 Q5 and his thunderbolt works fine with the bluetooth in his car...I am guessing there is an issue with my phone. I am going to test in his car later today to see if my phone works.

After reading your message I tried deleting my previously paired INC from the car but it didn't seem to change anything. Still can't maintain a connection with the Bolt. But thanks for the advice.

I have a 2011 Q5 so I'm very interested to see the results of your test. I'm hoping I just have a defective phone.

crap. I'm having the same issue with my Ford Sync system. Any troubleshooting ideas?

Update....I tested in my brother's car and my phone had the same issue, "device is paired but not connected." His thunderbolt had no problems connecting. Looks like it is my phone.....guess I need to call verizon!

I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing.

On my 08 Dodge Ram with Uconnect it will say paired but not connected.
If you click on that and then click on connect, it'll work.
If I leave bluetooth on it works fine. But if I turn it off to save battery, the first time I connect it I have to go through this until I turn it off with the widget again.

I'm going to leave BT on and see how much it really drains the battery....

No problems with my Pioneer avh-4100dvd. Works better then my fascinate and has no issues with phone profiles or audio.

Works fine with my '08 X5 3.0si. The only problem is that even though I have the contacts sorted by last/first in the phone, they are listed first/last on the car.

My TB will do phone calls and pair up with the MyGIG radio in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but won't stream music correctly over Bluetooth. It skips and plays too fast. On the Jeep forums, the same problem happens with the EVO and the Incredible. My original Moto Droid worked perfectly. Definitely a problem with HTC. Also my TB won't stream music to my Moto Bluetooth Stereo Headset (again the Droid worked perfectly). This sucks. Maybe a deal breaker for me. May have to wait for Motos 4.3 inch 4G phone to come out. :(

My atrix did this and the thunderbolthas done it once. I push play on my cd player and the. It connects and starts playing the music. Otherwise, only the "phone" connection is the only thing connected.

I called the tech support number. They said to unpair it and pair it again. Also to try erasing the SD card and putting the music back on. Also doing a factory reset. They don't freaking get it. It is a general HTC problem (EVO, Incredible, TB) if you read other forums like the car forums. The problem is if they don't understand this, they won't fix it!:mad::mad:

The bluetooth problems are power management related. It cuts power so much the chip turns off sometimes. Other times it causes sporatic problems. Sometimes the chip is on at such low power it cant recieve off and on signals and that makes you have to reboot the phone.

There trying to get bluetooth power savings out of the phone like the iphone has. But even apple has power management problems. IPad2 wifi is the same, cuts power more and more untill it drops signal. Than it ramps up and reconnects. Thats the connect disconnect problem there having.

Same exact issue with my wrangler 2011. Crazy! Heading to Verizon today see what they say!

sounds like you need a new radio bro
works fine with my high end premier pioneer deck

Pioneer Premier DEH-P710BT CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature

and sounds great

I also have a pioneer premier double din and am having trouble getting the Tbolt to connect as BT Audio. The Telephone connection works fine but it won't connect as BT Audio.

This worked no problem with my Moto Droid1 and I have tried un-pairing, earasing BT memory multiple times. Keeps saying paired device "no data".

Any ideas?

Re: 08 x5. I have a 2010. Does your car have an option button near the idrive? If you press that while the phone is showing on screen it will give you the option to sort differently.

Same here. I went from an Eris working without issue in my 2010 Nissan Frontier and I am getting the same issue with the TB now.. I have deleted all phones in the car. I still have to attempt to re-pair it. But yeah, same story here.
