Root Bluetooth compatability

I was wondering if there was a way to get better Bluetooth compatibility that you see with 2.3 roms on 2.2. I was hoping to get a mini keyboard but many people say it only works with 2.3 since the Bluetooth has been updated.

While 2.3 has "newer" bluetooth capabilities, it still has issues with basic bluetooth at times.

Yeah I was just hoping for a keyboard or a controller to use on my phone. Would switch to cm7 if not for the other errors.

I am unable to connect a mini bluetooth keyboard to either lgp500h (2.2.1) or smsung 5501T (2.1) both unrooted. I have been reading that there is an issue with these and android.
I tried the keyboard with my bluetooth dongle and winxp laptop and noticed that when it wanted to connect the keyboard showed in the software a randomly 5 digit number that you entered on the bt keyboard and hit enter to pair.
I suspect this is the issue with a number of phones and this keyboard. If you don't know the random 5 digit number when pairing it won't work.

Experience. I am trying to pair and connect a windows xp (sp3) pro with
Evo 4g running cm7 2.3 using a bluetooth dongle. The password matching works
Then a brief connection and then a disconnect between the two.

Do you know if all bluetooth dongles are created equal, or is this a cm 7 our 2.3 bluetooth bug?
