Help Bluetooth delayed connection to car

I've had the Droid X2 for a couple of days and have found an annoying problem.
The bluetooth connection to my car's handsfree system is not immediate (as it was with all my previous simple phones).
I've seen a couple of posts about this for other phones and am wondering if this is a known problem and if there is a solution.

Mine has failed to connect once since I got it a week ago. It actually connects better than my iPhone did. I have a Pioneer in car bluetooth system and the iPhone would have to be re-paired every time I started the car where with the Droid X2 I no longer have that problem.
