Bluetooth Earpiece Recommendation And Why.

I did, and does not, I even downloaded A2DP just to see if that would make it work also

well, the app is free in the market, so you might want to just download it and see if it works for you!

I received the Voyager Pro Plus on Saturday. I haven't had time to test it out fully but I noticed a few things right away.

First, it DOES NOT say who is calling. It just rings. I am very disappointed about that but I knew that was a possibility.

Second, it does give directions while using TeleNav but there is an issue. For some reason it is not saying the first second or so of the notification. For example, if it is suppose to say "Go 2.5 miles then turn right onto Smith St.", the Go 2. is not stated and all I hear is "5 miles then turn right onto Smith St." This is a another very big disappointment. There is a huge difference between 1.5 miles and 5 miles.

I am getting tired of this with both droids I have owned. I just don't understand why the newest and greatest droid doesn't work properly with a bluetooth device when my old non smart phone Lotus worked perfectly. This is extremely frustrating. I like the sound quality and comfort of the Voyager Pro Plus but it doesn't work the way it is suppose to with the Evo3d or the Shift.

I am going to contact both Voyager and HTC about this to see if I can get anywhere. I imagine they will both just point fingers. In my opinion this isn't the way it should be. The newest and best smartphone should do what an over 2 year old non smart phone does with a similar device. Now I have spent money on two new headsets and I still can't get one to work the way the regular Voyager Pro did with my Lotus. Very very frustrating.

If it's any help, my jawbone headset works great with Google Navigation on my Evo 3D. I hear the entire sentence, nothing cut off. I don't get callers announced, but I'm sure there is an app for that if you care about it (I don't so I never bothered to look).

The ONLY BT headset that announces callers every time is the Blueant Q2

I have had every headset ever made over the last 5 years, and, even though some software will work on occasion, nothing, but nothing, except the Q2 does it properly every time...

Not announcing the name of who is calling is not that big of a deal but it was nice while driving. I can live without that.

Not giving the first second of directions is an entirely different issue. It makes no sense to me why that is happening.

I am just very frustrated with both droids I've owned. They are great for using apps and playing games but in terms of it being a "phone" they suck compared to the Lotus. The Lotus was the best "phone" I've owned and I expect the newest and greatest to get better not worse.

I have no problems with this on my Evo 3D. I think your choice of headset is the problem. Try the Jawbone. It announces the directions without cutting anything off.

I guess I could try another headset but my point is I shouldn't have to. I am very happy with the sound quality, comfort, and battery life of the Voyager Pro. I only purchased the Pro Plus to have the features that A2DP is suppose to provide. Why it doesn't work properly is beyond me.

Well at the same time, if everyone else's headset works and yours doesn't, it must be an issue with the headset. You're making it sound like Android has issues working with bluetooth headsets. I think the real problem is your headset has issues because mine works fine, and I have never heard anyone else ever make the same complaints that you are making.

Maybe call your headset's tech support line and see if they have any suggestions?

I plan on contacting Plantronics about this. Keep in mind that I have tried two different Plantronics headsets. The regular Voyager Pro and the Voyager Pro Plus. Also keep in mind that even the regular Voyager Pro worked perfectly with the LG Lotus Elite. For whatever reason the droids don't work the same way.

I called Plantronics and got what I expected. The tech I talked to blamed the phone and gave me absolutely no useful information whatsoever. I asked for a higher level tech and he said I need to do that via email on the website. LOL

You gotta love customer service nowadays.

I will go through the motions but I know I won't get anywhere. I am getting so frustrated with this and I don't want to try another headset. I am happy with everything about the Voyager Pro Plus but the damn thing should work properly with any phone!

For what it is worth my Motorola H17 also gives perfect navigation, I don't get the incoming number, but it does say incoming call on line one, LOL, also reads all my text if I choose to do on the BT

I tried the Q2 and it works great. The only reason I didn't keep it is because it was uncomfortable for me and I found the sound quality to be inferior to the Voyager Pro. Those are personal opinions of course. You may find it very comfortable and the sound quality could be great for you.

Try the Jawbone. It works great. as far as comfort goes, it has a bunch of different earpieces for different sized ears (all included in the box). So mine is totally comfortable, small, great sound quality, and it works the way you would expect it to work (no cutting off the first line of nav announcements).

Having issues with bt also, and think its the phone, and heres why, have the pro with the hero,no bubbles,no troubles, change to 3d and same bt and everybody says not as clear, paired with my wifes shift and everybody says it sounds great, switch to pro plus and 3d and its the same as the pro,as far as sound quality,WTF,am thinking this 3d is not as the great phone everybody or HTC is making it out to be,my wifes shift is the bomb, downloads faster and stronger signal, fewer dropped calls,HMMMM.Unless someone can help with clarity issues, figuring out a way to give this phone back and get a shift.
