Help Bluetooth enabled when charging..!!

I've noticed my Bluetooth gets enabled automatically as soon as I plug to mains for a charge, has anyone else noticed this?

It doesn't seem to do it if I plug to USB for trickle charge, just on mains.

(I'm on branded Voda)

Your phone thinks it's in a dock (whatever the reasons are).

Search in your app drawer the stock app 'Dock Mode'.
After starting it, go to its settings (Menu button) and uncheck these autostart features (Dock and BT) ... voila :)

Thanks, I'll try it when I next charge the phone :)

This doesn't affect auto connecting to a BT headset does it?

Only if you use a dock. Do you?

If yes, you would have to decide whether auto connecting BT when in dock or charging without BT.

If no, I don't think so, but better try it :)

No dock, just a mains charger. Tried your suggestion last night but BT still started up as soon as I plugged in the mains charger

Here are my Dock settings:

The settings are right, sorry to hear that it isn't working for you :(

Little hope but you could have a close look at the microUSB -at the phone and at the cable- for tiny impurity. Or try a other USB cable.
I say this because a dock connector is coded for to flag dock mode to the phone. And impurity can simulate this coding, or a warped pin at the cable's connector.
Same thing is if you use a connector converter for miniUSB to microUSB (HTC says this in its manual).

A more practicaly approach would be a BT short cut at your home screen.
I have the app 'QuickTooth' on my home screen as fast BT switch (it's better than HTC's BT widget) :)

Nothing to do with dock mode - that only kicks in if you have set resistance between two of the pins. And anyway you have it not set to automatic.

What are you BT settings? Are you paired with anything. Also what music app are you using? It may have a setting for switching BT on automatically.

Just my old BlackBerry headset you can see in the screenie above.

The only music app I have is the stock one (I don't use it as I seem to lose 1% of battery for every two mins of playback ).

(If I plug into a USB cable on my PC the BT doesn't kick in, only when on the stock HTC mains charger)

Is that loss of battery power when you are using the BT headphones? In that case it is not the music app but the constant BT transmission that is doing it. Mine looses very little power when I am using plug in headphones, but then I use Mixzing rather than the stock music app.

I switched BT off and plugged my phone in and guess what - the BT came on. Then I unplugged, switched the BT back off and tried it again and it didn't! So I am at a loss like you. But I am not worried because I always have BT on anyway. Sorry I can't help any further.

I only ever use my BT headset for handsfree voice calls in the car. I was using the (junk) corded headphones that came with my Sensation to playback music. Interesting comments about the stock music app, sounds like I should try out Mixzin.....thanks for the tip ;)
