Root Bluetooth Fix for Jellybean roms???

Im on the avatar rom right now, its basically miui for the vs920 but i must say its pretty cool has anyone else tried this out?

Giving it a look now. Might give it a go today. Under "known issues" it only lists updating Google Search and Voice after installing Gapps. Does this mean bluetooth works or do they just not even list that as an issue since it is a phone specific issue?

I ran it for a couple days, didn't have any major issues, but I don't use Bluetooth so I don't know about that. I tried to download their Theme Engine for Windows and got a virus warning, something to do with Adware. You can use the themes on CM and AOKP too, not as much is themed (font, etc.) but they're still more complete than a lot of the Play Store themes. It's a cool concept, just seems like a work in progress still, I ended up switching back to AOKP.

I am liking it so far! Seems snappy. Battery life seems ok. Not getting too excited but I've toggled blue tooth a few times and it has gone on and off OK. We'll see...

I spend at least 5 minutes a day on review.cyanogenmod.org looking for any open or merged fixes that might affect bluetooth for our lg vs920's.

Came across this one today, hoping it might help :)
Gerrit Code Review

I had to switch back to stock as I needed the bluetooth working but if anyone stays current on the nightlies, please let me know how bluetooth works once this makes it into a nightly. Might be tomorrows nightly since it was merged at 12:18pm.

I wouldn't hold my breath that sounds more like it's just adding messages to the handshake and transfer. Pretty sure it's is more of a hardware issue.

Why would it be a hardware issue if it works fine on stock?

Has someone tried MIUI V5 which based on CM?
V5 has no issues with Bluetooth, you can turn it on and off whatever you want.
That means CM also can fix this problem without official help

If someone want to try, here is download link:vs920-miui_v5-3.4.19.zip_
The language is Chinese, but you can choose English

PS: this is not my work, i just give the information

Quick question which version of cm is it based on?

Sorry, hardware as in drivers. Not the hardware itself.

Yes the msm8660/broadcom cpu/chipset has working bluetooth with cm 10.1 for other manufacturers.

I am still hoping it is a permission issue as the bluetooth works for some period of time. I've set all my logging levels to 5 for the bluetooth stack and I am still looking over logs. Maybe I will get lucky :)

Bluetooth worked fine in cm10... the bugs are happening in cm10.1 (4.2.x)

Correct.
CM 10 was based on 4.1.2 working bluetooth
CM 10.1 was based on 4.2 non-working bluetooth

Broadcom released bluetooth stack(bluedroid) to be licensed under Apache GNU to community and was implemented in 4.2 which is where our problems started.

Bluez was the previous bluetooth stack used for GB, ICS and JB 4.1.2 but should be going away on the next release of Android.

Hopefully someone will figure it all out and we can have working bluetooth in 4.2 and beyond! :D

Cheers!

Where is that from? Please provide a informational link, not just a file to download.

This may seem like a stupid thought. I'm still learning the ins and outs. If the previous driver worked for GB, ICS, and JB 4.1.2, couldn't it be tweaked to work with JB 4.2? Or would that just cause more issues then there are to begin with?

Think trying to get XP drivers to work in Vista. In theory it works, but it doesn't always go smoothly. It's much better to try using the files for Vista, except in our case, we'll never see official version, just one off models that we have hacked to work for us.

Bluetooth didn't stop working in cm10. Grab the one in the first post of the cm10/aokp41 for all it matters, bluetooth was fine in all of those as far as I can remember.

I have no problems with BT or GPS anymore; I can even turn them off and on with no issues. I tried the nightlies and various other ROMs and so much didn't work or was half functional I gave up. Here's what I am running now.
