Bluetooth Headset

I have a nokia BT hs paired to my xperia s and it is functional. The issue i have is when i drive i do not normally drive with the earphones in my ear, when the phone rings it is only playing the ring through the BT and not the handset so i am getting missed calls. My old nokia would light up and ring the xperia s appears to remain in standby. Would i resolve this by getting a sony HS? What BT HS do you guys use? And if you use a Sony one does the phone ring as well as the hs?

Yo, I use a Sony BT headset: MW600 and I have to say that it behaves just as yours, while the phone is paired with the headset no sound comes out of it, every soundbplays through the headset. Also I think that's how it's supposed to be, if you take off the earplugs to drive just turn it off, you'll also save battery.
