Help Bluetooth Hogging my Battery

paleodust

Android Expert
My Plantronics Discovery 655 consistently drains my Eris' battery at a rate of about 1% per minute or so. I've put up with it all along, assuming that was normal. However, it recently occurred to me that nobody seems to be complaining about it.

I wonder if a newer model might not be so hard on the battery. I noticed that Bluetooth technology has progressed since I bought it. Mine is Bluetooth v2.0, in case that makes a difference.

Any insight would be appreciated.

BT is a power hog but no where near what you descibe! I would try another BT device first then go from there.

I rarely see "bluetooth" above 5-10% in the logs when I accidentally leave it on. significant, but something else has to be wrong.

Usually when I use it its pushing music to something and the battery takes s hit. Ur right though connected and idle it doesn't register much.
