Help Bluetooth Keyboard Case

Okay so I've seen cases like THIS for the iphone. I'm certain something like this would never be made for our triumphs. I think this would be AWESOME for emulators and typing and such. My question is has anyone come across any mods ever being made? I'm very tempted to buy this and dremel-glue-solder-somehow-frankenstein-it to a triumph case. Just thinking out loud I guess.

According to the specs:

4.8in x 2.6in on our triumph
4.5in x 2.3in for the iPhone

The keyboard you mention will look great on the triumph, as our phone is flat I would like to try this myself. There are more keyboards so looking for the best one takes a lil more effort in research, especially if the keyboard offers a built-in battery and sexy looking.

If I could mod it, I would remove the stubs that originality hold the iPhone and make the base flat, make a cut on the left where the camera would lay itself at, then I would get some double sided tape and place them at the battery door or on top of the cases by the sides (preferably on the sides of the battery door without case)(I recommend you get a TPU or hard case if you still wanna keep your phone clean). We can continue the conversation, I'll go look at more keyboards.

I know right, and not only for our Triumphs but our future phones too, and skip paying the extra 50 for keyboards :)

Your best bet would be to try and find one that uses a sliding mechanism to hold against the device. And the camera would more than likely be covered up unless you could find one specifically for the MT.

The thing with cases is that it won't damage the phone at all. I am willing to try this as I like to "have" a sliding keyboard, I am heavy texter myself from time to time.

I doubt that a Triumph keyboard will come to be honest, as for the camera, it has to be manually cut and made for the triumph, add some glue or double sided tape on the TPU or hard case and you got yourself a sliding keyboard for the Triumph ;)

Yeah I figured that the camera would be an issue. I just really miss having a keyboard. I came from an intercept and really that is one of the only things I miss from. I also thought of buying just a small keyboard and trying to attach it but I figured what marc had said about keeping the sliding mechanism would be the slightly easier route. I also found THIS which would be SICK!!!

What the heck?! LOL.

Yeah we could make our very own Xperia play. The only downside to that one is the price. I'm not too thrilled about dropping 70 bucks on something I'm going to take apart. BUT BUT BUT if I do pull off making a nice keyboard case I would consider trying to attach this to our phone.

And on a side note, one more post and I become a member instead of a junior member. . . I think.

I just wanna play with it on making a keyboard for the Triumph. Like Marc suggested, a spring based keyboard is perfect. I'll be doing my research.

Yea more posts you have you will become a member then senior member. And why are you looking at ios attachments look for android attachments lol. They might be more compatible. I know one thing is I have seen some bluetooth things that need android 3.0 or higher to run, which means you would have to be running ICS (well or honeycomb lol) for them to work.

Haha well I HAD looked for android attachments and had no luck really and since iphones tend to have cool cases and attachments I figured I'd just try to mod one of them. Man all this interest makes me feel better. Sometimes I think of my ideas are not really interesting anyone but me. I think I'm going to try it. Oh there is also this case that I saw yesterday that was a hundred bucks that had a TINY slide out keyboard. That one looked cool too.

AND I'm now a member . . . cool.

I have no luck finding android attachments, I made iPhone products work on the phone (Beat Tours). There are also backlit keyboards of the same profile. I would like to see a working bluetooth keyboard on GingerBread and ICS, wishful thinking.

What you say? Make it happen :)

lol awesome render. I think we could make it happen. I'm going to buy the cheapest one I can find on ebay. That way if it doesn't end up working it wont have been too much of an investment.

Awesome, well let us know with a follow up or any suggestions from us. I would love to see the end result. We have your backs :) And thanks for the image, I made it around the physical dimensions.

Just emailed 5 guys on ebay asking if they BY ANY CHANCE knew if the bluetooth keyboard would work with an android phone or if they could please try. Hopefully one of them responds.

Yeah, good job posting the question, I am doing my own research relating the same problem. So far, BlueKeyboard JP could fix the HID input but that is pre-mature at the moment. Still looking to see what for sure works on the Triumph.

All bluetooth keyboards should work on the MT unless they utilize bluetooth 3.0 which the MT only has 2.1. And it could be a possibility considering iPhone 4s have bluetooth 3.0 I believe.

good idea. my own opionion is that you should put a wedge between the battery door and the battery itself, preferably stuck to one of the two parts. this makes it really difficult for the door to come off accidentally, as it so easily does as is. before i modded that, the door came off if i pulled the phone out of my pocket the wrong way.

furthering that idea, stick the sliding keyboard to the large flat battery door panel.

this way you can be assured the battery door will hold tight (from the wedge under it between it and the battery) and you have a solid mounting piece for that sliding keyboard. while still being able to remove and replace the battery.

a necessity on the Triumph ( i have 3 spare batteries that i constantly swap between)

only problem is our camera is in the middle, where the iphone camera is on the corner. so u can use the camera while that keyboard is folded up. for us though, it might still block the lens or flash bulb EVEN when its extended fully.

id like to see someone test that!!

Someone could always extend the cut a bit so you would at least be able to take pics while the keyboard is extended. That should work.

That is exactly what I said earlier if I were to mod it. I saw most keyboards already and most are thin plastic shells that can be trimmed like wood with a scrapper or sharp knife. I would preferably like the camera to recessed to the edge. See Image below.

A cut to fit with a keyboard is better since this phone lacks of a camera button and its more stable to take pictures as we have both hands on the keyboard and hit a key :)

Hmm, I appreciate everyone's feedback. I like the idea of mounting it to the door. I had honestly thought of buying a triumph hard plastic case and trying to take apart whatever sliding mechanism the keyboard has and trying to add it to the case somehow. The most recent case that I was looking into was THIS. It appealed to me because of the fact that you have to buy the keyboard and attach it. PLUS the whole mechanism thing seems like I would be able to cut and attach it easier. If I went down this route I'm almost certain that the keyboard would work because I've seen the keyboard that goes into this case being billed as a ps3, android, iphone, and or tablet keyboard in different listings.
