Accessories Bluetooth keyboard help

Just wanted to put this out there....

I have this mini bluetooth keyboard/touchpad:
http://www.amazon.com/Mini-Bluetooth-Wireless-Keyboard-RT-MWK02/dp/B005JALJUQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339033531&sr=8-1

I haven't used it much because I never had a phone that would connect with it.

The Evo V 4G will not only connect, it is FULLY functional. On that mini keyboard all of the options are working and the mouse pointer works with the touchpad just like Windows, it even recognizes taps as clicks.

Pair this up with the HDMI connection and you now have a fully functional media center on your TV, no hacks or mods required.

The range is not amazing, you want to be within about 20' with that unit. It is rechargeble via a mini usb port on the keyboard. It also has a rotate function for the touchpad, so you can hold it flat or like a tv remote.

Only thing I have not figured out is the function keys (home, menu, back, search). Not too big of a deal unless you are going back and forth.

Not saying this is the best bluetooth keyboard, just confirming it works well.
What is your secret? I have sprint ETC EVO 4G android 2.3.5 and was not able to get it to work all weekend. Tried everything. and the Rii works very well with my son's galaxy II, so no issues on the keybord itself. Is bluetooth really that much of a hit and miss? Any advice would be highly appreciated.

The Evo V has Bluetooth 3.0 as does the S2 while your phone has 2.1, that might have something to do with it.

Sounds like a logical explanation. I overlooked the "V" in the original post and ordered my a Rii based on that. My bad.
Would you or anyone know if there is a way to upgrade Bluetooth on this phone. Or is it part of Android 2.3.5? If yes, is there any way to upgrade Android 2.3.5?

The bluetooth version is built into the chip, there is no way to upgrade it. However there may be an alternative stack that improves functions.

Now I am going to try to do some homework on what is an "alternative stack", it there is one for this case and how I can get a hold on it on my handset......

I've moved these posts from another thread to here.

Also, OP, that keyboard says it's Bluetooth 2.0 compatible. If you have Bluetooth 2.1 in the Evo 4G (seems reasonable, but I don't know for certain), then the keyboard should work. Try rebooting and turning on and off the bluetooth radio and the bluetooth device. Make sure the bluetooth device is fully charged.

Or the keyboard you have is defective. Do you have any other bluetooth enabled devices that it could work with?
