Help Bluetooth not finding devices

TomWho

Newbie
My note 3 finds plenty of Bluetooth devices in the house but never sees one of the 2 car devices I have (Motorola and Iomega). These connect readily to house computers, etc. Can someone please post a car Bluetooth device they have working? The Motorola Roadster has been good for years with other phones and still likes my pcs. :(

Make sure that for your connection attempt that you set the 'Bluetooth' environment on your phone so that it is visible to all devices that are attempting to connect.
It will only stay in the 'Discover-able' mode for the duration of that SCAN but that should be sufficient for your phone to make the connection to the BT device you want to connect.

It works fine with the Sony BT3900 head unit in my BMW, all my Galaxy devices have worked just as they should, the note 3 being no exception.

No problems connecting to any bluetooth devices here, including this:

Amazon.com: iSimple ISFM21 TranzIt Universal Bluetooth Enabled FM Transmitter Car Kit for Android Devices, Blue: Car Electronics

I've had no problem connecting.

I note that when I happened to do a bluetooth scan the other day at a motorway services, there were all sorts of devices around with obscene or insulting names. Some people definitely have too much time on their hands.
