Bluetooth pairing with a car stereo

I've paired my TB to a Kenwood KDC-X993. Pretty much everything works fine except the SMS. The stereo is suppose to recognize when an SMS message is received. Kenwood states that the phone needs to support SMS over bluetooth. Does anyone have any experience with this? This stereo is over 2 years over, and Kenwood is stating that most of the newer smartphones( iphone and android) do not support this function.

your stereo manufacturer says that newer android do not support it, and you have an android device... I'm not sure what you're looking for here.
