Help Bluetooth Question

I have bluetooth headphones and I like listening to music on my phone. Will listening to music via bluetooth kill my battery (because the bluetooth radio) or is it like the wifi radio that it doesn't drain much battery once connected?

What if I'm in class (which I usually am) and I have my music off but my headphones are still connected to my phone without transferring data (song), would that impact my battery?

As you can see I don't understand bluetooth fully but I like these headphones and I'm tired of getting my wired cords tangled in my backpack or trumpet case, lol.

Thanks to all that reply!!!

I believe that having your Bluetooth antenna turned on will place a significant drain on your battery, whether you're actually transferring data or not. This should be easy for you to test out. ;)

Actually it was doing very well. I was listening to music and then turned it off without turning off my bluetooth headphones or the radio on my phone and the battery level didn't really decrease at all.
