Hi guys,

i have a sony mex-BT3800u head unit in my car, it streams the music from my DHD perfect, but i cant skip tracks pause etc using the head unit i have to use the phone, which is annoying me, :(

im using the stock music player that comes on 2.2 froyo, im not sure weather its the phone or the music player stopping me from being able to do this,

is there anyone who can help me with this,

many thanks :D

If you're using froyo i'm surprised you can even stream music to your head unit.
BT is very poor with froyo.
Fortunately gingerbread has full BT support, so should be worth the wait.

As far as I know the control profile is called AVRCP - something like that. A2DP is just audio. So, if you want to listen AND control the music app over BT then you need both these profiles. A2DP if in Froyo but not AVRCP. As arlrb has mentioned already, this will be in Gingerbread.

hey guys cheers for the replys,

iv found out by playing that its the stock music player that stop me having control thru my headunit i downloaded poweramp and works a treat, i cant skip albums but i can do everything else, i dont have any problems streaming over bluetooth at all, over a hr and half journey not one issue at all, am i just one the lucky few,

altho i dont get the track title come up on the headunit when streaming over BT, would i get this in the upcoming 2.3 ?

I have a Samsung YA-SBR510B that I use via bluetooth and it works fine pausing skipping tracks with my DHD and I run Froyo, I use Winamp.
