Bluetooth terrible sound quality with headset

Hi, I have just acquired the S2 on orange and am using it with my plantronics voyager pro headset which has been outstanding with everything else to date. However, I get a "dalek filter" when I call out (not inbound it seems) and have to disconnect the headset then reconnect (not power off mind you) then it's fine.

It sounds like the audio signal within the S2 is being overmodulated, as changing the volume on the headset makes no odds. the effect is like to old square wave filter used to create the dalek speech effect with a slightly delayed copy laid over the top.

I was hoping it was a singular problem and a replacement phone might cure it but it sound more common.

It can't be the headset as it works fine after reconnection. does this add anything to the picture?

Ah, just caught up with the thread, apologies. I will try and get the firmware update tonight and hopefully be sorted.

Thanks for the info folks.

Just done mine as well, it took a long time for kies to show the patch. But all seems ok and the battery seems to last longer with the phone staying a lot cooler.
Maybe just a coincidence. :)

Hi to you all

I am new to there forums but am glad that loads of you are having the same problems as me when it comes to up Bluetooth headsets. The sounds quality is rubbish and like many of you it sounds like a darlick. I have bought 4 high spec headset and all returned them as well as my phone sent back to orange 3 times now.

Can anyone help me install this new firmware update that you say resolves it as orange have no idea about an update.

Thanks

Si

Result! Mine is fixed, after Kies installed the update! Thanks very much :)

Did you update solve the problem when you downloaded it via Kies. Does your bluetooth now work and does it also solve other issues with the phone.

Firstly, Kies Air doesnt do updates!

Just load Kies on your PC and then connect your phone it will show an update is available ,
orange FwKG3

I had the initial KE2 which was buggy as hell with bluetooth this new KG3 has fixed it.

It takes a good 20mins to complete, follow all the on screen instructions and all done.

I personally for an orange Fw haven't had any other problems with this phone so I am very happy, it keeps on amazing me.

Pity orange staff are poorly advised.

Thanks as completed the download via my pc and Kies and lets hope it all works from now when out and about using my bluetooth headset.

Orange still say they are waiting on the release of the update, but never mentioned using Kies etc, so maybe some more training from them would be good.

Cheers

Other than having to download the latest Samsung Kies as the version installed form the phone on connection to my Win 7 laptop wouldn't run, the advice here was perfect.

I got the lastest update and the dalekification of my bluetooth audio is sorted.

Many thanks wise and generous persons.

Anyone tried with a jawbone?
Solution for those with issues yet?

Subscribing, and sorry I didn't read all posts - at work

Hi, got the same problem with my Plantronics bluetooth earpiece and my Galaxy S II.
Further, my problem is that the Kies software does announce an upgrade is available but when I try to do the upgrade the Kies software stops working and I get a message saying it has terminated.
