Anyone know how to toggle between visible to all devices and visible to only paired devices? It was easy peasy on the EVO 4gLTE but I can't seem to find the setting on this one.

Looks like you may have found a security flaw. Normally you would just lick on the "HTC ONE" and it would toggle between visible to all devices &only paired devices.
This is the second software issue that has been found on this phone.
**Edit**-Follow up..
spoke with HTC, they are stating there is no way to fix this as of now...

I'm sorry, Bill, but there is currently no way of making the device only visible to paired devices. The phone was only just released and there are already features which will be coming very soon. All I can recommend is waiting.

There are some fixes as well as some entirely new features. All I can say is stay tuned.
lol that is so funny. I just called them (still on the phone) and they are entering information on the security flaw. It has not been reported yet.
I also reported the issue on the Sprint variant with the home button functionality (swipe up for google now/press and hold for menu) not working.

just got off a 52 minute phone call with their Special projects team (Tier 3) and they have confirmed that this was not intended. You should be able to modify blue tooth visibility (doh!). They advised me they will work on the issue.

Both of the above hold true for the T-Mobile variant as well.
I'm equally hoping for a quick update for both issues,but,I'm kinda doubting the re-introduction of the Home button long-press for menu function.
I'll run w/the stock interface for now,but,more than likely will throw HOLO LAUNCHER (or similar) on it if it's the only way to get back some gesture options w/the on-screen buttons.
No, not unless you frequent coffee bars and have sensitive information on your phone. It's a security flaw, but more of a nuisance than anything...

I got a call last night (April 10th) from HTC Special Projects team regarding the Bluetooth issue (was really surprised to get any reply!) I reported and they have stated it it is a bug , and that it was important enough to warrant a call. Apparently I was the first to report it, and they are quickly working on resolving it and putting out a patch to resolve the issue and potential exploit concerns
for those unfamiliar with the issue-
Normally when BT is active you can choose 2 options:
-Phone visible to everything (with a timeout menu item available to adjust the length of visibility)
-Phone only visible to paired devices.
The HTC M8 is missing the option to hide the phone from all unpaired devices, meaning when BT is on, everyone can not only see it, but they can also attempt to pair to it (imagine some annoying person in a internet cafe trying to request access which pops up a request on your screen) While they would not be able to connect they could annoy you with pop-ups requesting connections which would be quite aggravating.
On the more sinister side of things it make the phone more of a target for exploits by saying "I'm here, try to hack me!" Though anyone can sniff your BT address this just makes you a little more tasty than everyone else.
I will not go into the details of how they can exploit BT, with it's limited effective range, but there are many exploits out there that can allow hackers to remotely access a phone (provided they are within range) and use it to make calls, access data, listen in on conversations and browse the internet.
If you frequent busy places like internet cafe's you can become a prime target.

I just tried it on my HTC One Mini 2, and it seems to be correct - the device is only discoverable to all when in the bluetooth settings.

I know this thread is a little old but hoping someone can tell me why my HTC ONE M8 Bluetooth keeps "coming on" after I turn it off. A few minutes later I can look & it's back on again.
