Help Bluetooth w Jeep Uconnect

I have a brand new Nexus and a brand new Jeep w Uconnect. It's great. Phone calls are working perfectly, which is the important part. Media, however, is not. When I have the media option turned on in my Bluetooth profile, media does not play through my car speakers. When I set my Bluetooth profile to phone only media apps still try to use the Bluetooth connection. How do I get this all sorted out?

OK. I figured out playing media through Uconnect. I didn't have the radio on the correct source. However I can't make media play through the phone when Bluetooth is connected. I turn off the media option and it turns itself back on . I watched it reconnect . I want phone on and media off for my GPS app.

Anyone? I want my Nexus set so phone only plays though my Bluetooth Uconnect and the media plays on my phone. When I set the phone that way, the media option turns itself back on. What's up w that? How do I keep that from happening?

I told the sales guy Uconnect was a deal breaker. He actually had to get one from a sister lot out of state for me. Got everything I wanted and my color, too. Haha. But now I just need to make it quit forcing the media option back on. Not sure if it's the jeep or the phone.l

If I read this correctly...

1) You have successfully paired your GNex with the UConnect
2) Phone audio works through the Jeep
3) Media plays through the Jeep, but you don't want it to
4) You have gone into the Bluetooth settings on your GNex (for the UConnect device) and unchecked the box next to "Media audio" under "Profiles", but it always reconnects automatically

I'm not a UConnect expert; I have the Ford SYNC system. I am able to disconnect the media profile through the GNex. It doesn't reconnect unless I go back into the GNex Bluetooth settings and reconnect it.

If your system is behaving differently, then you should consult the manual that came with UConnect. Perhaps there is a setting on the car that allows you to disable the Bluetooth protocols used by the phone? Seems backwards but you never know with Chrysler lol

Thanks for clarifying that. Yes. That is exactly what I've been trying to get across.

Now what was that my friend used to say about Ford? Oh yeah. Found On Road Dead. J/k. I'm actually a Ford girl thanks to my dad who was always a Ford guy. Ford just didn't quite have what I wanted this time around and I'm loving my Patriot.

I'll have to check my Uconnect details.

Sounds remarkably like the issue I had with my Seat Ibiza FR and media. I had to get a setting switched on the car's config to enable audio streaming.
I won't bore you with the 18 month argument I had with Seat UK over the whole thing, but I will say this: find a friendly gadget freak at your local dealership who's prepared to dig in the config.
Switching the setting in the car meant that the pairing cycle completed properly, and I can now disable / enable media on my GN and it is remembered between connections to the car.

Good luck!

Did you get this sorted? I've got similar problems as I can't hear my in-phone GPS unless Bluetooth audio is on which means it has to be playing music. If i pause the mp3, there is no sound at all. Frustrated :-(
