BOGO on D3

I had just upgraded yesterday to the Droid 3 and my husband had upgraded to the Droid 2 less than 2 weeks ago but decided he wanted the Droid 3 when he saw mine. I went into the Verizon store and was able to return the Droid 2 and get the BOGO minus the $35 restocking fee so I got some $$ back. I could probably have argued and gotten more off but was too tired to try.

Both my son & I upgraded to Droid 3's on Sunday and it seems that Verizon won't let us have the BOGO. I feel Verizon cheated me.

Are you on the same plan (family plan) ?

If so, they should honor it because you are in the 14-day worry free guarantee window. Call customer service and see if they can fix it for you.

Just my opinion, I don't work for Verizon...

stargazertony - did you get it at a Verizon Wireless store? I know it's a pain but maybe hitting different Verizon stores in your area could help? The managers and staff where I got mine are much more helpful than at the other 2 stores in my area. I was just hoping to swap the phone but they offered the BOGO. The other store where I upgraded my phone didn't mention the BOGO but did mention that I could get some minor discount because my office uses Verizon. So you get different info and help depending on the store.

Went back to the Verizon store and talked to the manager. He told me that since we were within the 14 day return period he could honor the BOGO on the Droid 3's. Verizon has a price matching guarantee on a per store basis. If you buy something at one store and it goes on sale at another store you don't necessarily get the sale price but get it only if it goes on sale at the store you bought it from. So when it was all said and done we got 2 Droid 3's for 150.00.

We just upgraded 4 phones on our family share plan from plain feature phones. Besides me talking with CSR on the phone at Verizon, my wife had gone to the store to look at the phones. Seems like the stores (even corporate) have no idea what is going on. When my wife came back home, she said the manager had no idea that they were BOGO, much less on sale from 199.99 to 149.99. In fact, I had to email him a screen shot showing the BOGO and the 149.99 price. I wonder if the BOGO was for upgrades only and not new accounts. We ended up getting 3 Droid 3s and 1 Droid X2 (also BOGO) for $249.98 + tax as we had an old, never used NE2 discount.

The wife is eligible for her upgrade, she wants the D3, and I just got a DInc last year which I am happy with. BUT, the BOGO has me hating that we could get a free phone here. A friend of ours, also on VZW was thinkin about getting the D3 too... would it be possible for us to get the BOGO, but not activiate the one, sell it to my friend for half the cost and then they both get a D3 for 75 bucks, and I have a happy wife and a friend that will owe me one..LOL

Possible?

As long as you extended your contract sure, but as soon as the other Droid was activated on your friends account, it would no longer have any warranty.

That's how I got mine! My husband had an upgrade to use, and they told us that the D3 wa buy 1 get 1 free, but I didn't have an eligible upgrade. SO, they activated an old regular phone I had laying around, took away some minutes on our plan, thus opening up another line to upgrade. it even lowered our monthly bill, lol. Both phones cost us $150 together.

How are people getting 2 D3's for $150? I just bought 2 on Sunday from a Verizon retail store for $200 + tax with the BOGO, but I'd like to get $50 back...

I checked on the Verizon Wireless website and it says it's $200 BOGO.

I am due for an upgrade and my brother is due for his first smartphone. I see people are reporting getting the BOGO on the Droid 3 for $150. As the previous poster asked, how did you go about this?

Thanks.

When I logged in to verizon online it showed the D3 for $149. Only my primary line was available for early upgrade and the other line was due in august. I called customer service and the 4th time I got a rep that gave me the deal with manager's approval. I had to pay the $199 for mine though since I did it over the phone it didn't qualify for the internet pricing. I couldn't be picky though since they were letting me upgrade a line 2 months early and use the BOGO.

My wife and I just upgraded our previous phones to the Droid 3 this past Thursday. At the Verizon store, they had Droid 3s on sale for $99.99 a piece. Buy One, get one free. We have been with Verizon since 2008. I upgraded from an LG 8850 Flip-phone; where the hinge was broken, and my wife upgraded from an HTC Eris.

I had a $50 2 year upgrade credit waiting on my account so it was automatically applied to the transaction when I bought online. Others must have the same thing as well.

I got 2 D3's (one for me and one for the wifey) on BOBO, had a $50 upgrade credit on one line, and 2 $52 ($104 total) gift cards (from the Verizon trade-in program) so with tax I only paid like $56.00.
