hey guys

i have been looking for the s-off for other htc phones and ran into the wire trick

if you look at the battery cover of your phone there is 2 small holes and under the cover there are 2 contacts that serve no aperant purpose

i will take one of those evos apart tonight and see what i can find
lets hope the wire trick works on our phones as well if i can find a place to do it on the phone

If you take a look at your signal when you remove you battery cover it will be non existent. Those 2 contacts are for your cell antenna. Unless boost redesigned the design

My brand new Boost Moblile Evo 4G LTE was dropped a few times, and as a result that back piece that connects the antenna no longer attached to the phone snugly. It wouldn't completely snap back into place and eventually got lost. I called HTC's warrantee department for a replacement piece which cost me 20 bucks. 3-5 business day delivery. On day 6 I called to see where it was, and was told the order didn't process correctly in their system. They had to close that ticket and open another one. An extra 3-5 days...On week 3 I called and even after speaking to a supervisor, no replacement piece anytime soon. Was told 100 people was ordering the same thing and they were backordered 57.

It's over a month now that I'm paying for a phone that doesn't have a service signal!

I didnt get a chance to get insurance for this phone. So I can't replace the whole phone. Is there a website where I can order the back door battery cover and get faster results, or is there a way I can get it to get a signal without that back cover?

Please assist with advise/information, thanks!

Tinfoil? It would help if you posted in the right section for your phone. Maybe someone there might have a spare one they got laying about they could sell you. Or is the covers on the Design and the LTE the same and interchangeable?

um i thought those were pogo-pin holes for a charging cradle.. why in the wide world of sports would a phone design ever put an antenna into a battery cover?!??! not to be a jerk, but think about it.. does that make sense to you!?

It isn't the first htc like it the htc merge has something similar as well. Don't believe me pop the cover off or cover the two holes with you finger and watch the signal drop or none at all. One of the holes is for the gsm antenna and the other for the cdma one. If you have a case that doesn't have the holes open the signal will suck as well. So take a design and check it before claiming them as something else. Though I didn't say it was the antenna but for the antenna as well.

Edit: Also the last I knew charging cradles use the physical usb port.

2fast is correct for some strange reason HTCput antenna on back cover. I had to buy my girl a new phone when they first came out cause the phones where so new couldn't get back cover replacement for two months.
