RELEASE NOTES: There are currently two themes to choose from and you can see by the updated FAQs that I most likely won't be making any more myself. I encourage anybody that wants to make a theme to do so. If you submit it here, I will add it to the downloads section. And yes, I finally caved and added a reboot to recovery option to the power menu. There may be other tweaks and changes that I forgot about in the interim. This was originally going to be an update-only release to version 6.4 but due to the number of changes, I decided to release it as a completely new version. However, the changes aren't complex enough to require a complete re-install so there will be an update and a full release ZIP. If you're on 6.3, you should have no problems flashing the update ZIP to bring you to version 7.

Special thanks again to bob-st, Madbat, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for testing this release for me and helping make sure it's as rock solid as possible. As always, there may be bugs present that we didn't see so please post here if you encounter any problems.

I having problem with my contacts version 4.4.2 trying to fix. When I add a contact now from phone it has dropdown listing the phone and my 2 other gmail accounts. The old contacts always saved everything to my main gmail account by default which also added them to my My Contacts group which is how I want to get this contacts app setup. I cant get rid of the saving to phone from the dropdown list which would work too by defaulting to the right gmail account. Probably an easy fix but no luck goggling problem so figured I post the problem here.

This doesn't sound like a conquest problem. I suggest you start a new thread to get more attention.

I ended up pulling 2 files from ROM.
SecContacts_OSup.apk and SecPhone.apk and installed them. The next time I started up contacts it asked me to choose main account from a list of my Phone and 2 gmail accounts. I think that was the right wording for choosing the gmail account and now my contacts saves to my main gmail account by default so its working like it was and that all I wanted.

Great.... glad you got it fixed

CHANGELOG

08/12/2014: 7.1
  • SYSTEM: Added shadow layer behind battery icon percentage text to improve readability
  • SYSTEM: Unlinked several UI element colors for greater customizability in theming
  • SYSTEM: Removed "Custom" contact list option from Dormant mode settings to prevent force closing
  • SYSTEM: Updates now apply the default theme before rebooting to system
  • SYSTEM: Quantum Themer will now prompt before rebooting to recovery to apply theme
  • SYSTEM: Quantum Themer will now apply the default theme before applying the selected theme to prevent overlapping theme elements
  • SYSTEM: Increased preview image size in Quantum Themer
  • SYSTEM: Switched to Holo Light/Dark Action Bar style for Quantum Themer
-------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: As you can see, the bulk of this update focuses on the theming aspects of the ROM. If any aspiring themers out there have any questions as to what elements in the colors.xml file link to what elements in the status bar/system ui/framework, feel free to drop me a PM, but they should be pretty self-explanatory. There are also two new themes available in the downloads post: Holo Blue and TouchWiz. Enjoy and as always, let me know if you run into any bugs.

Special thanks to bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing!

EDIT: In a last-minute decision, themes have been moved to their own thread here.

-----------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: This release should be fully compatible with themes from 7.1. Be sure to re-apply your desired theme after updating.

Thanks to bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing!

  • APPS: Removed ES File Explorer from optional components (full release zip only)
  • APPS: Added Tomi File Manager to optional components
  • APPS: Added 8sms to optional components
  • APPS: Updated pre-installed apps to latest versions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: All themes had to be rebuilt for this release, please download the appropriate theme from the themes thread. Update notices will be sent out to users of 7.2 but anybody else should download the full release, wipe, and re-install.

You'll notice that I've removed ES File Explorer in favor of Tomi File Manager in this release. Tomi is a lightweight file manager with all of the best features of ES File Explorer plus a few additional ones. I've been using it for the past month or so and am highly satisfied with it. It's fast, easy to use, and nice to look at.

I've also included 8sms in this release. Anybody who used my ROM for the Virgin Mobile Galaxy Victory will know what 8sms is but for those who don't, it's a stock-based messaging app. It's currently has features take from both AOSP 4.4 messaging and CyanogenMod 10.2. The author is super supportive and updates frequently. For anybody who has been looking for a stock messaging app, this is the way to go. If you're on Boost or Virgin Mobile, you'll probably need to follow the steps for extra configuration in the FAQs post.

Heads up notifications are not shown for ongoing notifications. Enabling heads-up for ongoing notifications breaks the phone's ability to receive calls properly.

All of the theme-related FAQs have been moved to the themes thread.

This will likely be my last release for a while. I've got a few side-projects that I want to work on, I want to make a few guides/tutorials for anybody that wants to implement some of the mods that I have included in Conquest, maybe a theming tutorial, and I may even make a couple of new themes (definitely have a couple of ideas floating around in the back of my mind).

As always, thanks to bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing and if anybody has any problems, please post them here and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

CHANGELOG

08/20/2014: 8.1
  • SYSTEM: Fixed fifth lockscreen shortcut being cut off at the side
  • SYSTEM: Added theming support for keyguard.apk and tw-frameworkres.apk
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: You can either download the update from the downloads section on the first page of the thread or via the OTA Update Center. You must be on version 8.0 to properly apply this update.

CHANGELOG

08/20/2014: 8.2
  • SYSTEM: Fixed SystemUI.apk/Keyguard.apk force close
  • SYSTEM: Fixed potential framework-res.apk force close
  • SYSTEM: Fixed downloading updates in OTA Update Center
  • SYSTEM: Device will now identify as d2bst for Boost Mobile devices, d2spr for Sprint devices, and d2vmu for Virgin Mobile devices
------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: SystemUI crashes were due to including raw resources from Keyguard.apk in the default theme. Raw resources must be stored uncompressed. Appears there were some in the framework-res.apk portion of the theme as well so those have been removed to prevent potential FCs, although none were reported.

OTA Update Center should work properly after installing this update (for future updates) but if you're on 8 or 8.1, it will likely force close when trying to download this update. Use the link in the downloads section. There are some caveats with OTA Update center as it is not fully compatible with Philz recovery (or actually, Philz recovery isn't fully compatible with the scripting language that OTA Update Center uses) so while you can flash the downloaded zip directly from OTA Update center, it is not recommended. The wipe and backup options do not work so if you want to make a backup, make sure to manually flash.

08/21/2014: 8.3
  • SYSTEM: Fixed carrier label in notification tray/on lock screen always showing Sprint
  • INSTALLER: Fixed update zip not installing/not reverting theme properly
----------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: Everything should be working in this one. No major changes, just bug fixes. You must be on release 8.0 or higher before flashing this. If you are on release 8.2, you should be able to update via OTA Update Center or from the link in the download post. As with before, I do not recommend flashing from within OTA Update Center as you will not be able to make a backup or wipe cache.

CHANGELOG

08/21/2014: 8.4
  • SYSTEM: Rewrote the script that applies the default theme as well as the method used to fix black screen of death
  • SYSTEM: Added SecSettings.apk to theme reversion list to enable theming of system settings app
--------------------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: This should fix the problems people were having getting black screens after applying updates. You can try flashing this over 8.3 if you were experiencing the black screen of death but I'd recommend a clean install of 8.0, making sure to follow all of the instructions. If you're on a functioning install of 8.3, you can just install this update as normal either downloading via the link in the downloads post or through OTA Update Center.

I don't actually see WiFi hotspot in the list just Bluetooth and USB tethering in wireless and networks

Wi-Fi hotspot is on the main settings page just below Wi-Fi. If you have the quick settings toggle enabled, a long press of the toggle will take you into the configuration screen.

Great ROM!

Installed super simply.

Smooth. Great looks.

I got the 8.5 version. Straight from stock to this.

A couple questions:
Battery life is fast to drop.
No ringtones? Notification tones? Led not blinking.
Led does work for charging.

Thank you for this rom and your hard work.

Runnin 4.4.2 NDC, Boost.

Led does work for charging.

Thank you for this rom and your hard work.

Runnin 4.4.2 NDC, Boost.

Ringtones and notifications have to be selected. They are set to silent by default.

Try adjusting your kernel. It will take a few charging cycles for your phone to adjust.

The ROM has settings for the LED. All you need to do is turn them on.

If problems still persist I recommend doing a factory reset, cache wipe, Dalvik wipe., then reinstall.

There is also a possibility that your download is corrupt. It's rare but it does happen. I've had 2 corrupt downloads in the past few months before I started testing Conquest.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions just ask. I'll do my best to help you.

RELEASE NOTES: As you can see, there are quite a few changes/re-organizations in this release. I may have missed a few small changes, but I believe I got most of them.

I want to thank bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing, roirraW "edor" ehT for pointing out that the 3minit battery mod was updated to version 2.0, and talkingmonkeys for pointing out that the aforementioned battery mod was updated to 2.1 as well as providing the updater script code for clearing out the old 3minit settings/downloads.

There's a new theme for this release based on Android 3.0 a.k.a. Honeycomb. I call it Honeycomb Inspiration. Many UI elements were taken directly from Honeycomb and several others were adapted to fit in with the overall look and feel. You can find it in the themes thread.

The OP has been updated with a slightly re-written feature list, a list of requirements, and rewritten installation instructions detailing how to flash a full build, flash an update from within OTA Update Center, and flash an update manually. The FAQ was also re-organized and a few more were added. Please be sure to read through them.

This version will be released as a full version and as an update. The update requires you to have Conquest: Singularity 8.5 installed or it will refuse to flash. Anyone already on 8.5 should receive a notification via OTA update center that an update is available.

As always, if you run into any problems, please post here.

WooooHoooo!!! This ROM just keeps on getting better and better.

The new Honeycomb theme is awesome!

The following were accidentally left out of the changelog:

  • SYSTEM: Renamed "Geometry" lock screen style to "Tension"
  • SYSTEM: Replaced small circle in Tension lock screen style with lock/unlock icons
  • APPS: Replaced AOSP-themed TouchWiz Contacts/Dialer/In-Call with stock versions
----------------------------------------
EDIT 09/09: Full version zip has been updated to correct an issue with the cyanogenmod keyboard being inadvertently included. No version update or other changes. If you are already on 9.0 with a functioning system, it is not necessary to download this.
