Root [Boost Mobile] Boot animations not working....

The Rom Toolbox ones work. That app is the only way I can get them to work. I know Linux commands like the back of my hand as well as how to use permissions/su/sudo etc.... I have tried both Android SDK to push it and in a terminal in my phone to copy the file over

cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media
etc... the file copies successfully because the new animations starts when the phone boots but it freezes. I have now tried many different animations from different sources and the only way that has worked is by using Rom Toolbox. I am going to try and find a free alternative to Root Explorer to copy them manually and see if that works.

Yeah, I've actually used it before and it came pre-installed with the Windows 7 ROM I got installed from chevanlol360. I'm pretty sure I was having this trouble before I installed his ROM. 99.9% sure as I am no where near perfect and could be wrong.
I have been busy today, but I'll try using ES to to it later tonight. Thanx for all the help man, I'll check back in with results later.
 
Well i did deeper searching on the web to find different 480x800 boot animations and found a couple of sites i hadn't seen before and i found 2 that work so it's gotta be corrupted files or something, I'm sorry for wasting database space.
 
Not sure it's been asked, but what do the contents of the non working bootanimation zip files look like in comparison to the working ones? If the layout isn't right or the desc.txt is written wrong it'll cause it to fail or bootloop. I've made several different ones for different devices and with different configuration so there could be an issue there.
 
You know i did glance at the desc of one of the first ones with absolute system and it showed p 0 0 part0 with 120 frames @ 15fps and I've noticed some other examples I've seen are 30fps, Does that matter? I've done gif and c4d animation so i know it's slower quality. Before the animations freeze they do play although dramatic and choppy and then finally freeze at different points. I'll re download some of the other ones and check them out later on, but i have 4 month old twin boys so they have been occupying most of my time as of late. I'll let you know what i found out.

Dont be sorry at all, that's what this forum is for...I was going to suggest you try a few of my custom ones, but at the moment I'm having phone issues that even I can't fix, which is extremely frustrating since ive fixed so many other's phones...but Yeah dont be sorry...and dont hesitate to ask anything, plus your a tool fan, so your good people, remember as MJK said best:

Using Rom Toolbox Pro....boot animations selections are missing and says that no animations are available at this time... anyone else have this problem?
