I've tried uninstalling all traces of drivers, reinstalling, just absolutely doesn't work...any tips?

thanks yeah i should h ave posted on there my bad, hope somebody comes up w. a fix soon.

Install cwm first then install root from inside cwm.
idont want install cwm for the warranty if i have to send back the phone for repair
i run the update from the computer i tested in windows 64 bit widows 32 bit ultimate edition, a starter edition here first work a fedora a Ubuntu and last not more important a mac os x 10.6 no luck erased driver reinstalled

It APPEARS that they patched the ZegRush exploit in the B08c update that One Click Root for the Warp uses. DO NOT update to B08c until this is confirmed/fixed. Its nothing to do with drivers I believe. IF you did update to B08c then reflash CWM for the warp and restore a NANDROID backup.

I tried booting into CWM and restoring a nandroid backup but thats not possible either without root access. So as of now, w/ this update there is no root method at all I guess..Unless I'm wrong but the CWM couldn't access the sd card for the restore , that's b/c the phone itself isnt rooted yet I'm assuming...

Installing cwm has nothing to do with having root access, thats within android itself. As far as android knows, cwm doesn't even exist, at least after its completely booted. It's a seperate piece of software/firmware that runs on the phone accessible via power button + VOL up. Just make sure usb debugging is turned on. You may be installing the wrong version, im not sure. Check my thread out I made for one click cwm install to see if it works for you. Specifically this post: http://androidforums.com/warp-all-t...click-process-installing-cwm.html#post3872127

Ive installed CWM before no problem, what im saying is now after this 08c update , when i boot to CWM, it won't read the sd card, usb debugging enabled of course, but something w. the update causes CWM to not even read/recognize the sd card. So I cannot flash to the nandroid backup unless there's another method im unaware of.

Couldn't you just revert to a pre-update setup?
i tested my theory by just dropping the file into the "FirmwareVersion" folder, it has to be this exact folder and named exactly as such. the program will create it before the download starts. just drop the update file in it and it will skip the download and go straight to extraction.

Okay burrito root didnt work.
But i found a way. Install CWM recovery first.
Then upload the attached zip to your sdcard and reboot into CWM recovery then choose install zip from sdcard the choose Superuser.zip. Install it and then reboot. After reboot you will have root. Mine took a few minutes after restart for the root to start working. Have fun with you warp.

For CWM or Stock recovery installation try this if you like. ZTE Warp Recovery Installer V2.zip Just run the .bat file for the recovery you would like to install
