Please for rom developers only. I would like to keep the discussion only on development, the issues that we find, and what we can do to help each other, the DEV community, to fix these issues.

Now here is a couple of issues I've run across with the zips that have been provided that were deodexed b08c. Thank you to Mr bobo, without this we wouldn't have such a great base to start off of. If anyone else needs to be thanked, please pm me, I do not mean to not include you.

I changed this thread to help with others with issues that maybe I or anyone else in the community can help with.

All I'm attempting to do is to bring us together and sort these things out.
So lets please refrain from negative posts about anyone's roms. And any new finds/features you find are welcome.
Have my own sub-forum for this now.

Which was your base for your rom, I believe I was having the root explorer issues on yours

I used Woodstock's nandroid as a base... and ive used the files in the link I provided many times so you shouldn't have any problem with those... if you do then your phone is dysfunctional...

I found a thread somewhere on at that said it was a mismatch between superuser.apk and the su file. Didn't list a fix thought

Phone isn't dysfunctional. I've resin stalled different versions of busybox got it to work, but end up losing all data connectivity after reboot.

Downloaded noob rom on wife's phone, used uot to theme it pink. Manual changed signal bars, all good but clock still white. Iam using Mr. Bobo deodexed b08c with his theme and my own tweaks so iam glad you started this thread downthemachine
, if anything is can do I will.

I wonder what my issue is with uot. This isnt my first go around with it. I think I need to dig a little deeper. Its just sucks to start over yet again.

Geez you guys... since it seems mine is the only one working I guess ill make a flashable stock deodexed rom tomorrow... hopefully tonight though

Maybe the initial zip didn't have the proper permissions and symlinks. Hence the issues.

OK... so I've been wondering for some time now and I'm too lazy to read atm but.... WTF ARE SYMLINKS!?!???... lol... I've learned alot about android ever since I bought my warp but for some reason I haven't researched symlinks...

Symbolic links, its a link to something but more advanced. The system sees it as exactly the same as the original file its linked to.

Symlinks for busybox are like cmds that busybox uses to run certain applets. The links tell busybox what you are trying do

good thread guys, I haven't had the UOT issues you are reporting though, also, you don't have to start over, make sure you download the UOT settings before you submit it, then you just upload the uot settings file back in the kitchen to start where you left off with your theming.

I have been wondering about the symlinks/permissions set in hroark's templates, which is what I used for the b08c stock deodexed zip.

I had two issues last time I used it, for some reason jbird's data fix did not stick for me and the root explorer issue.

I have just about stopped using root explorer but I do want to find a fix for that issue, I was wondering if anyone had tried installing root explorer with a fresh sd card...

I didn't do anything fancy to deodex, just used the kitchen, copied the files over the apks on the phone and deleted the .odex files, reboot, factory data reset and cwm backup, extracted the system rar and put that in hroark's template for the stock ROM.

The only real deviation from that was changing superuser to supersu.

I did notice that for some reason the kitchen moves the su binary out of the xbin folder into the bin folder so I moved it back, so maybe something about that messes with root explorer.

I tried going back to superuser and root explorer still had issues for me for deleting.

I'm going to upload mine as soon as my mom gets off the computer
