Root [Boost Mobile] [DEV] Thread to help other Development issues

I have ruled out the sd card as the issue, tried a blank one and copied a file over and was unable to delete it...

I am going to try the hanset update tool again today to see if the new release is out there yet, I want to deodex the new one and see if the issue is there still...

my best guess at this point is that root explorer needs superuser and me using supersu messes something up for root explorer... I have to think if es file explorer works without issues it's something that root explorer is looking for...
 
Uot issues for me was the boot animation. Its longer than the boot time for the phone, replaced with stock, it was fine
 
handset software update tool has not been updated with the newest software fyi, still b08c and files are identical to what came out in march still...

anyway, I have verified that root explorer works on the stock setup that I downloaded today from zte, verified that it still works after installing cwm recovery and jbird's data fix.

Now I am going to deodex without rooting and recheck, if that still works I will then root and recheck.

I've gotten it to work by installing busybox to xbin, but after reboot I lose data connection, so I think it has something to do with the su file
 
another question/hunch, could someone flash hroark's kernel once and see if it's still an issue, then flash back to the stock one?
 
I know this is a little late, but I can confirm SD card replacement doesn't help. At least, on my end. I have like 5 different SD cards I formatted/tested. Same issue.

OK so the zip I made earlier didn't work correctly (I took a few shortcuts)... none of the apps showed up... I'm going to revert back to stock and deodex it the same way I did my rom... it'll take longer to do but it'll work though...

I fixed it... I think it may have been the way I had installed supersu... at any rate so far so good with root explorer.

I will upload the deodexed flashable zip, then you can manually delete the odex files, I will also upload a flashable stock deodexed ROM. One thing about my setup so far I haven't flashed anything that sets symlinks or permissions, I kind of wonder if that will effect the root explorer so I will try that too.

EDIT: spoke too soon, it's the flashable zip updater-script file causing the issue I think. but see the next post for a flashable deodex zip.
 
ok, the root explorer issue is caused by the flashable zip, I used hroark's stock based ROM installer template. I made a backup, extracted the system folder from the rar, flashed the zip and root explorer no longer deletes files.

This makes me think it's a symlink or permission issue.

here is a cwm flashable zip to replace the stock b08c odexed files with deodexed ones, you will need to manually delete the .odex files from both the system/app and system/framework folders. http://db.tt/boaIXUjh

I will look into where the zip is going wrong.

Shouldn't these permissions be the same? /system/etc and /system/xbin

whats the chances of someone putting up a link for a deodexed bo8c for people that cant do it manually :o like me.
 
I'm looking into other roms to see how they set permissions and symlinks.
 
Right now with the templates hroark provided, I can't make a flash able zip that makes su work right. Both stock and cm7 templates
 
Also does anyone know how to setup the layout of your launcher so it flashes the same way you want it setup? Icons and Widgets?
