Anyone want to wreck their rom to check something for me?
I need someone that's deodexed to delete their phone.apk after you make a backup in cwm. You should have no signal. I need data services to be checked. So web, tapatalk whatever. I did this and lost all signal. I have an idea to get some stuff working on cm7 if my results are the same as yours. Lol
If anyone is up for it, please pm me the results after you restore what I asked you to break ;)
 
Answer me this first lol...after flashing the data fix do I need to do an advanced restore or just normal?
 
Restore first then flash the fix, then make a new backup. The problem is that zte put some file to check the data partition. That zip removes that. But you need to rebackup your rom again with the fix in place. Or flash after a restore before booting up.
 
Either way, you need to rebackup after you flash the zip because it changes a system file
 
Tons of force closes later, it appeared I still had service. Still full signal bars. I wasn't able to actually click anything else though due to the myriad of closes

The phone should just reboot on its own. And then have no signal, lock screen shouldn't say boost mobile. If I'm right, there may be a component that I was missing to get cm7 working. And maybe I can slightly port it after a build
 
Mine didn't reboot at all. I'll test again though later. What I'll do is delete > battery pull > reboot. Should be home by about 4:30 est or so

Hmm, when I did it I replaced both the phone apk and the contact apk. The phone rebooted itself then no signal. Replaced the phone.apk with the backup I had and set permissions, then a reboot fixed it. Really weird. Thanks for trying it though
 
Try flashing that kernel, too to see if it fixes your wifi issue
 
I'll do the kernel last; Did you still need me to delete phone.apk and see if I lose data, or did you solve that now?
 
While I'm here I have another thing I forgot to ask.

My battery icons that I've put in. They go from 1~100, they are 1% icons. Phone only shows every 5% though (EG: 100, 95, 90, so on and so forth...)

Thoughts? I'm trying to make this be 100% awesome >>
 
You shouldn't, they have always worked correctly for me , I'd check the settings at the bottom of the battery page on Uot if you can actually get through. 2 days in a row it says the kitchen is full for me
