Anyone know what will happen if you increase the compression level on a flashable zip? I'm adding alot of stuff to my rom and I'm trying to keep the zip size down

Well, I'm gonna flash a test for my rom soon...so I can try that and let you know :P How much are you increasing compression by..?

I was going to put it at the Max... but idk if it will flash properly or not

I just set it at max...Well the max in 7zip which is ultra or something...Normally warp shark is ~90mb...so we'll see...Should be approximately ~60mb when done...And I'll try to flash it and see what happens...

Increasing compression to maximum didn't actually change the zip size for me....but i'm gonna flash it and see what happens...

Well, I managed to make a signed APK. I installed it. Buuuut it erased my MMS apk. So I'm making progress. I've been at this for a while. I think its break time >.> Gonna theme my icons more, but I need a smoke first

Nope... you don't actually use the compiled apk... it won't work because the signature won't be right... you need to extract the resources.arsc file from the new apk and place it into the original and then adb push it... don't sign it

Hm...I see what happened...when I "recompiled" the APK...it somewhat recompiled it...but it actually didn't....I see the smali folder still...so it messed up...I think that's a good step to fix this now...

Oh I see... I don't see why it would stop compiling... the warning about the translation is common and doesn't really make a difference

Here's a stupid question...think it matters that there is a space in my directory name...? I know sometimes stuff is iffy about that....I'm gonna try...

I just decompiled and recompiled mine without any problems... try getting the latest version of apktool

Will a cm9 kernel boot an ics rom? Or will it have to be modified?

I think its an issue with the Mms apk I'm using...cos I've tried literally EVERY other app that I have...o_o; SO I'm gonna go ahead and fork an MMS apk from another ROM and give it a go.

Its weird. I can decompile and recompile every single other APK in my /app folder...just not MMS...i even forked the one from Shins ROM (just in case i had a corrupted file, or something...) and same issue...This is so bizarre. I even uninstalled/reinstalled android SDK, APK Multitool, etc. Lets try doing it manually again

Try downloading and using the latest version of apktool... the one you have may be dated...
