Okay, just flash this like you would a ROM. Download

What a pain in the ass but it's done! The default for custom is now WVGA@12Mbps. I had to mod some major system stuff to get this working and there was NO documentation on how to do this for our phones. I also added email.apk to the flashable zip for those on ROM's that have it removed until I get the dependency removed.

Make sure you flash the zip and not just replace the apk. System files need replaced for the higher bitrate to work.

Well... it's exactly like you said. I'm not sure why either. I've been playing with it all day with no issues and I didn't change anything dealing with sound. Maybe it's conflicting with something else in your ROM?

I guess I wouldn't say "really clear" but it's better. That's all I was really hoping for anyway, the sensor/lens on our phone is pretty weak but at least it's usable now.

Much better man. I noticed on mine there was a big difference on YouTube too. I wonder why they are compressing our videos so much. I might put one up to vimeo to see the difference, they tend to do better with their video quality. How big is the file? I'm getting about 7MB every 5 seconds.

That doesn't seem right at all, that's what it should be with the old values. Crap. Try clearing your cache and dalvik-cache in recovery maybe?

I really don't know what's going on. I just got 27MB for 19 seconds. You're using the custom setting and it's set to WVGA and H264? What ROM are you on?
