Paint.NET is the best! I did the Alliance artwork using it exclusively.

There is a clone of paint.NET for Linux called Pinta. I've never run it but the screenshots look pretty much identical and it can use the plugins and filters for paint.NET, might be worth a look.

I think I mentioned it above, I just don't like GIMP. For some reason the layout is just a complete sensory overload to me and I spend more time looking at the UI hunting this or that tool than doing work. Granted my last experience with it was a few years back, I just looked at a screenshot and it seems somewhat more organized.

But at this point I've been using Paint.NET for years and I can just go in and tear ass all around it without thinking too much lol.

I agree, I just use Photoshop to make and edit images, more tools, more functionality, and easier to use for me (mostly cuz I took 1
