Root [Boost Mobile] finally got root!!! help with rom's...

czseven

Newbie
I got root finally.

Now i installed twrp method, how do i go back to no root for update?

I downloaded zip for root alot, to find out app on my phone was unziping and despersing filesthay were in the zip everyware, so lol have files i need to delete is there an easy way to do this i do not want to delete a file that is being used for root.

I would like to also delete unwanted/ uneeded apps, is there a list of installed apps that are safe to get rid of, and how do i do this.

Also have no custome roms installed any suggestion on a good newb rom would b awsome. I do have kernal but would like any suggestions on that aswell.

O take it you can't use flashlight, screenshot etc. Without rom?

THANK YOU ALL WHO HAVE HELPED ME!!!!!!!!

Hi czseven.......I just tried the noob vIII.II and its great. Not sure if this helps, but I take my sd card to PC and deleted all files, add the ROM only and used CWM to install. I didn't have to unzip anything. There is a certain way to do things and an order to do them that I am learning. Backup most important before you start anything. Congrats on root.

You can use the flashlight and stuff with no custom rom, just a custom kernel. I reccomend Warp OEM however. And noob has been discontinued... and doesn't have some of the performance modifications that the newer rooms have.

I keep getting system update notification, constantly.
I rooted using T WRP method. And install the latest alien kernel, which I will add is awesome great work!
Now to do the update I need to flash a recovery ?
To be honest I've been reading about this for an hour exactly how to do a flash recovery TWRP,
and I am confused . Do I need to go back to stock to install updates? I I would just like to know exactly what I need to do ?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

And has anybody used that SD maid, app? From what I've read it would work really well getting rid of a lot of files ect.?

Either install WOEM or HaloBean. That will take care of your system update notifications as they are both b10 based roms...

Also, they have Alien Kernel installed so it'll get you custom Rom and kernel. If you want stock rom with custom kernel, then download the kernel to your computer, and without extracting the zip file, go in and delete something that says something like add to build prop.sh. this only works if you haven't flashed it before. If you have, then you can go into build.prop using a root file explorer and change the value yourself.

I need to seriously clean up my SD I have an 8 gigabyte Card and I have tons and tons of files that are doing nothing! After the TWR p root install what files do I need to make sure I keep? that's all I need to know. I'm seriously running out of space to do a custom ROM and more backups so I need to seriously I downloaded a link for easy route and the files unzip and spread everywhere I did it probably 10 to 12 maybe 13 times there are no good and not doing nothing I need to get rid of them any help please!!!!

I was hoping to find some sort of free app to help me with my files find files that are there for nothing duplicate files ECT?

I know its not supposed to unzip Docs to Go was and unzipping after download automatically I installed ASTRO File and download the .zip there went around docs app. but I still have tons of files that I need to delete. Because I kept downloading it without Astro installed therefore it happened a lot of times. = crap load of files folders that got unziped and are useless.
this is why I want to know what files I need to keep after installing the TWRP root? So I can clear space on my SD card and install flash ROM And of course make correct back ups before and after.

Might want to let others know or sticky it if they have Docs to Go free version anaway, and no other file manager, they might experience the same problem..
