Today, Boost Mobile announced that they will be brining 4G speed to their customers! Yes, the rumor have been true and Boost Mobile is going 4G! On their network you can expected speeds between 3-6Mbps, however at time you may see speeds more than 10Mbps! The first 4G(WiMAX) device will be the HTC EVO Design 4G! It will still run on their Android Monthly Unlimited plan that features Shrinking Payments. It starts off at $55 a month, but for every 6 months that you have your payment on time it will got down by $5, until it is as allow at $40 a month. The EVO Design 4G will land on May 31 for the price of $299.99, their 4G WiMAX network will also launch on May 31! Now, this device features a 1.2GHz Dual-Core Processor, 4-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, HTC Sense 3.6, 5 mega pixel back camera with flash, from facing 1.3 mega pixel camera, WiFi hotspot capable, visual voicemail, micro SD card slot, and more. Yes, this does have visual voicemail and this is their first device. It will allow you to check voicemail via the touch of a button, no more will you have to call a number to access your messages. For $10 more a month you can share your connection with up to 5 other WiFi enabled devices. Please note that if you go over 2.5GB of data a month, in the coming months Boost Mobile may reduce your educe 3G/4G data speeds to 3G speeds of 256kbps. When the new month begins you data speeds will return normal.

Sorry to bust your bubbles but this is a 1.2 single core processor not a dual core, i'll be on this phone like white on rice if it was dual core, but since it's not i'm going to wait for a dual core phone to come out. It's kind of a bummer that virgin mobile is getting the evo 3d and that has a 4.3 inch screen and it's a dual core phone and we have to settle for this crap.

Check your 4G WiMax coverage before buying this phone from Boost. I don't live in an area with WiMax and they aren't putting any new WiMax towers up. They're going to switch to LTE. I wonder what's going to happen to Boost 4G when WiMax goes away. It's still a decent phone but paying $300, no.

So is this the ONLY phone; the HTC EVO, able to use 4G???
Or is it a theory that the Ultra will or might be able to access the service with the OS update???

i guys you can move to sprint and get the new htc evo 4g lte for 199.99. that is what im getting next weekend and i don't like boost mobile at all it is a terrible network and 300 dollars for a phone that is like buying a crappy iphone but don't get me wrong i love my transform ultra but it is too small for me and my dad got the new evo from sprint and it is awesome. HTC did a greart job on the evo 4g lte. but i tried the evo 3d but the 3d hurts my eyes but virgin mobile should get this evo design and boost should get the 3d. but goodbye boost mobile and hello sprint.

How can Sprint's network be better than Boost if it's the same network? Is it because of actually being able to use roaming if on Sprint?

I agree this phone is way over priced and looking at the Wimax coverage area it doesn't looks like it covers much.

I was thinking the same thing.
However, I too agree on the price factor.

Boost doesnt run on the "FULL" sprint network. Its not connected to all sprint towers. If you take a look at the boost coverage map and the sprint coverage map theres a huge difference when you compare the too even without the roaming towers included for sprint.

There wimax service is very limited to so check the map before buying a boost phone for 4g. Closest town to me with covarage is 2 hours away.

I just got my new HTC evo design today!!! compared to my ZTE warp or any other phone on boost its kicking a$$!! I love it already, the screen looks amazing the pic is really crisp. I also get 4g wimax all over my city so theres no problems there. I think if your already on boost and want to upgrade this phone is worth the price and if 299.99 is to much for u then you should be more worried about a new job rather then a new phone!!

I gave into my impulse buying power again and picked one up 3 days ago...

I do like it overall... BUT... the TU runs faster, better quality cameras, and better browser.

Picked it up from best buy, they give a 30 day return policy... I might return it and stick with the Ultra... I'll see, I got a few weeks to play with it... already rooted and cwm:D

Dude, really?!?!?
FAIL at the way of thinking.

As for myself, I have MORE than enough dough, thats NOT the issue.
I need to have a psychical keyboard. Especially for email longer that a sentence.
Now, if the HTC have a psychical keyboard, I would have; w/o a doubt, pick up one today and review after review states HTC is a great company for phones.

Years back I paid full price for that "fail of phone"; the Palm Pre. Ok, that is harsh. It was a good phone but, since there is no more real support for that device nor "flashing it" is near to impossible, I didnt want to waste more cash and buy another device.

Bells and whistles are just bells and whistles. A phone that has good reception is the point. But for $329 (incl taxes for my state)

A psychical keyboard is very important for me.

I RARELY ever use the keyboard on my TU. For me the reason I won't be moving up to the evo is TOTALLY price related. Right now $299 is lots more than I'm willing to pay. Bigger fish to fry right now (mortgage, kid's college tuition, saving for next 2 kids to go, etc...) To say that if $299 if too much for someone to pay for a PHONE then they "should be more worried about a new job" shows a certain level of......

Hello How Certain are you that the Samsung Transform Ultra will be 4G capable I am hearing conflicting reports about this issue, any info would be gladly appreciated thanks

Our phone can support it for sure, in my days of editing files for the ultra system i see multi wimax files every where i look. It doesnt matter anyway as boost still needs to enable it, we might need a 4g chip not sure tho.
