Root [Boost Mobile] Hardware accelerated video

Just a curiosity. The other day I was watching some 720p video while my car was getting worked on. I didn't have my charger so I was trying to conserve battery. So I kept dropping the processor speed intending to stop when the video got jumpy. To my astonishment I turned it ALL the way down to 122 mhz. So slow the ui was near unusable. Yet the video played flawlessly even though the controls in Mx player pro lagged awful too. How is this possible? I was using mx player pro with the arm v7 neon codec from xda. The player shows it was running in hardware+ mode.

The Warp does indeed have hardware acceleration, provided by the Adreno 205 which runs independently of the CPU.

That's kinda what I thought; that it might be running on the gpu. But I didn't realize that the adreno was clocked separately. Thanks for the info!

Can we use it to our advantage in the new rom? :p

Absolutely! Some launchers support rendering the entire UI with the GPU, and there's a build.prop tweak for that too, I believe. Also, DM gave the GPU a slight overclock in his Alien kernel. So any way you cut it, we'll be taking advantage of it :)

Sure, no problem! :)

Epic-ally Outrageous :D I cant wait to test the first public builds!!!!:)

Just a random bit of trivia. Did you guys know that adreno is an anagram of Radeon which is what the technology is partly based I on?
