Do you have the right drivers?

I think so but I'm not sure if I got the right drivers recognize it when I plug it in. I've got the usb drivers installed I think I might be whats recognizing it. I'm not very good at this stuff. so I'm kind of struggling with the whole damn thing I've been trying to root it for for a long time. it's frustrating when I hear how easy it is for you guys.i think im messing up on the whole double click right click you know that junk. I think I've got it figured out in the next thing i know I get all confused and stressed out in it all goes to hell on me.well any hand holding you guys could give me would be appreciated. and I'd be happy to make donations

I found i had to constantly reboot my phone while it was connected and the command box was still open a.d i also couldnt succesfully root unless i had flashed the superuser via cwm recovery

I watched knoxvilles video on u tube and it showed me evrything i.was doing wrong cant insert a link now but im sure if u search utube with warp knoxville and root u will get it

Did you use snakes post to root

Yeah i did and it worked fine except for the fact that i had to keep rebooting my phone. Also if the debugging icon doesnt come up pull up the "my computer" and look on the side bar, right click and eject device and youll turn on the debugging and then try to root. you may need to manualy get the debugging on a coulle times in the process and may need to manualy reboot dont relly on the com to restart every time but sometimes itll work

I just can't get the drivers installed I don't know why it's just not working. they're on my desk top can somebody give me step by step on what to do from there. I know there are posts but I obviously can't followthose

I found my driver's there in c:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\androidusb.sys. anybody know how to install them from there it says you cant install frim system 32

not sure what is the only driver the computer found were system 32 since I have a few different ones on the desktop but iobviously you see how screwed up I am

Hello let me try to help I had a very hard time rooting my phone here is how I did it and what I used.

I downloaded the Superuser file from Knoxville's April 11th video rooting after B08c. After downloading the superuser file plug phone into pc and put the Superuser file into the usb folder(do not unzip).

then download the Cwm that he uses in the video when he is rooting before B08c the updated one that snake has on the forum did not work for me. I have this version of Cwm pm me your email and I can email it to you.

Depending on which os your pc is running the phone should automatically install drivers. To get the rest install Pdanet on the pc and the phone from the playstore. Knoxville shows where to download Pdanet in his April 11th video.

So after that is all done turn on usb debugging and check unknown sources.
click run me In the cwm folder it will ask you to do the previous 2 steps before continuing.

Then click continue and it should reboot the phone to the bootloader screen with the green alien showing and begin flashing cwm.

After that is done wait before pressing anything until it reboots phone to the lock screen then press any key on the pc to continue it should if done correctly reboot your phone into clockworkmod. Now just install zip from sd find the Superuser.zip and install and reboot phone now.you are rooted! Hope this helps.

thanks for all your help I had to stay away from the phone for a few days to the wife didn't shoot me. yeah I'm pretty sure it has something to do with xp because I cannot get the drivers to install either I think that's my big problem. although it's probably me I'm not a big computer guy unfortunately. but I'm on a mission to get this thing rooted

What atrocity just told you will make it happen. After you get it done you are going to kick your self for making it seem like a monster task. It's just your unsure of yourself because it's new but we all been there the first time. Trust me

where do I find the usb folder. sorry but it'll probably be like this the whole process

Plug the phone into he pc via usb cable and the phone will ask to turn on usb turn it on a autorun should pop up just select view files. However on xp I had to go to my computer and go to and select f drive or g and double click to open the usb folder.

I forgot to ask if you meant usb on the phone lol I just assumed

okay I'll do that bu t I think I've already got those installed. I'm hearing from people that I have to uninstall the htc sync because that's what is doing it messin up the adb you know it's funny I swore I plug the usb cord in the way you told me to 1,000,000 times and never installed any of the drivers t as soon as I did the way you told me to itinstalled everything

I've searched the computerand i cant find anything for the htc sync but I know it's there and they say all I have to do is uninstall it

Ok I would try what they are suggesting see if it works. That's what happened to me plugged it in an bam drivers installed Glad I could help.
