I was reading this the other day at XDA and it seemed interesting....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360670

It has received many positive responses so far... But there were also several negatives as well, and that's what initially kept me from giving it a try. So a day or two later I was bored and decided to try just for the hell of it. After flashing I played with it for a few minutes then I ran Antutu Benchmark and saw an increase of more than 300 points, which is cool. No adverse side effects noticed yet. Has anyone else seen this or tried it?

Anyway I thought that Jimsmith or SmartmanVartan or anyone may be curious to examine it in detail.

I've heard of it but I never tried it... after I wake up tomorrow morning I'll take a closer look at it, it looks super cool :D

What Rom did you test this on?

HaloJelly 4.2

edit: I just tried it with WarpOEM 2.53, no negative side effects after almost 24 hours. And I realize that benchmark scores alone dont tell the whole story, but I didn't see as much of a gain in benchmark score on this rom. Anyone know why that could be?

Im not sure, but I tried this mod on my warp sequent and i notice some differences. Its more snappy. Like no lag. Apps and pages load up quicker. But most of all, the battery life is great now!
Usually id have to charge my phone 3-4 times a day. Im at 72% from 7:30 this morning.
I think im going to post the link in the sequent section.

Just Tried this on Halo Bean, It is working.
Also Running Droid Smith now and it is
really working good on Jims Rom!!

Working for me on HaloBean 4.48. Everything is loading very fast. Only been a few minutes so can't speak to battery life yet. However, ads are showing in AndroidForums app.

EDIT: ads in AF app disappeared...no idea why they showed up or went away.

Its probably the hosts file. Ad away gets the latest hosts but the new one in HB 4.48 and 4.50 both aren't totally updated but they still work just fine.

Running for 2 Days now on DS 1.73. Better battery life and smooth performance.
No drawbacks as of now.

I'd like to give this a try on my Warp with HaloBean 4.5, just want to make sure I read the op correctly.
We should be using the CM version of PurePerformance X for custom roms right?
I know I know this is such a noob question but the language used in the op is a little confusing. And I like to get things correct the first time rather then have to fix a stupid mistake. Thanks for any answers!

what are you talking about? I just flashed it............ It seems to be faster, better etc.? It never said anything about doing this that or the other. (Or I didn't see that). tell me what I'm not doing

For whatever reason i always read what's on screen when I flash things. If you do the same when flashing this mod, you'll see that it says "...mount your /system and /data through CWM". It's clearly visible when the flash completes, center screen.

Is that instructions or just a message from the flashing process? I don't remember it. Maybe I missed it. I seem to recall seeing typical flashing messages throughout the process (Performance and Graphics tweaks) and then I rebooted.

I just flashed and rebooted, I wouldnt even know how to mount system/ whatever in CWM.
I think it is nothing to be concerned about, otherwise they would have stated it in the OP of the thread.

Apparently it doesn't seem to matter wether you mount them or not, since many haven't, and they're still getting increased performance
