If I may...
With 1080p video, you're looking at a few other jobs besides how the codecs involved are handled (h/w or s/w decoding).
First, at the beginning of the food chain is the fact that 1080p videos are going to scream in at anywhere between 10 and 30 Mbps of video and audio on its way to decoding.
On the back end, the 1920x1080 output needs to scaled by the video processor to 800x480 and respect aspect ratio while doing so. (1080p is 16x9, the Warp is 15x9)
So you have a lot of input/output and other processing going on, and going with h/w decoding is just shifting the load from s/w decoding.
Personally, I recommend two approaches -
First, try DicePlayer and see if it makes a liar out of me, that's done h/w decoding longer than MX Player.
Second, if that doesn't work and if you can, check out Handbrake on a pc to convert your 1080p stuff to something smaller and more manageable. It's free, works great and there are lots of Handbrake tips threads on the forums here.

Hope this helps!
