Hello, I have noticed problems with my warp and have decided I want to develop a new rom. I have learned java and need some help learning how to develop roms. I cannot find a good guide on rom development. If anyone has a link to a good guide, a recommended book, or some personal help please comment. Thanks. -Will

That's the way I started too... I flashed to stock and used Titanium Backup to removed all the system apps I didn't want and replaced them... after that I made a nandroid and unzipped it on my computer so I could start editing all the files

Haha even found a way to theme it all without a computer :) looking into a way to add crt and extended power menu without comp but that i actually might need to use the computer for

I didn't think it was possible but I guess I'm about to do the same... I have to share my computer with 5 others so I cant really use it the way I want to unless I stay up late

Yea I've been doing that and now I've been using Kitchen to deodex and some small tweaks. I'm having a problem making the modded rom available to flash in cwm. I keep getting error 7?

Thanks to everyone who has helped me you guys are awesome. I have wanted to switch to the HTC Evo 4G to have a more stable phone, but with all you amazing developers I'd rather be here and help work out the kinks.

Download Xperia Kitchen. Not sure what os you using, if windows use cygwin. Takes some practice for coding, but that what notepad is for.:p

Can anyone help me out, I have a rom made called Xavior Rom and I deodexed, themed, root, deleted apps, and added some new ones. I created a Zip but whenever i run it it says error 7....so i used a nandroid and replaced the old files with the new. then it says md5 mismatch. I tried the md5 fix but doing the command code, but that ends with saying cannot find md5. Can someone tell me a way to make the update actually work? I really need some help. Thanks.

Look for hroakrs cwm templates it allow you to zip and install through cwm :)

cygwin: Cygwin for deodexing

kitchen: [KITCHEN] Android Kitchen, v0.196 [Linux / Mac / Windows] - xda-developers theming etc

apk multi tool (apk manager): Downloads | APK Multi-Tool for decompiling apks etc

jar decompiler: [Guide][Tutor]Jar/Apk baksmali smali compiler and decompiler - xda-developers for decompiling jar files etc.
