Root [Boost Mobile] newbie here have some questions N860

Ok newbie here I have been doing some reading and I understand the advantage of rooting because of all the bloated apps that get added to our phones and using our resources and spying on us. But can someone let me now does this rooting & changing rom will help with the service & reliability of phone calls (service) Boost Mobile network? I do like the idea of being able to tether my WI-FI. But that seems to be the only thing I would like to add.
Lately for some reason my service has been less than desirable missing lots of calls texts, just yesterday I could not text at all would come back unsent, and my phone calls half of them wanted me to call collect or use credit card??? This has been off and on for 3 weeks. I also get all these downloads from Google play and other apps I don’t use, I uninstall and they just pop back in. was wondering if this might be why my phone service is falling because all these unwonted apps. And of course I have just reached my bottom line discount on shrinkage plan maybe they are screwing with me to get new service??????

I sounds more like a virus or 'shady' app causing those issues... If it was me, I would wipe it and flash a custom ROM - or at least wipe and go back to stock. The custom ROMS we have here and their accompanying kernels have solved reliability issues for all of us. :D

I went ahead and rooted the phone, then was lost on what rom I should use for my phone or the proper method, so I installed early stock I found on site then let boost mobile update software reinstalled all the apps I use so far everything seems to be working.
