Root [Boost Mobile] ODIN Backup for --> SPH-L710_MD7 stock

Well I keep getting emails from dropbox saying the links are suspended temporarily due to excessive traffic... So too many people download in one day... Wait a day and try the link again....

If any one else want to host/mirror these links, please do and I'll add it

can someone please upload this file else where before I brick my phone accidentally, its not letting me use recovery i need this odin file please!

I'm transferring the rest of my files to other places... All links should hopefully be working by the end of the day...

(Uploading is a bit slow, although I have the capability of uploading at 25MB/s (why pay for good internet service if you can't use it

Hey smith, sorry it took me a min. To respond. Been really busy @ work these past few weeks. I can't be much help installing on windows. Never tried it before but I can offer much support for ubuntu/mint.

First off, if you run 64bit OS then I believe its best to compile from source. I don't think he has a .deb package made for 64bit yet but its easy to do and for me it seems to work best when compiled.

Only download the source from Benjamin's website (witch brings you to his github) cuz those are latest builds with more supported devices..
Heimdall – Glass Echidna

For instructions on basically everything, use the ReadMe files on his github. For how-to on compiling from source. Scroll down to Apendix B section of the readme and follow..
Note: most of the tools/packages he says you need are installed by default in ubuntu. I think I had to install like 2 of them. Use synaptic package manager(or any package manager ) to find those tools and use the ones with the ubuntu symbol next to it. It will also indicate which ones are already installed

https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall/blob/master/Linux/README

Once you compile it you have to add it to your $PATH just like you do for adb so it can be called from the home directory in your terminal.

If you need help with that just post back and ill give instructions for that as soon as I can..

@ mavrikmeercat
i setup duel boot (win8 / Linux mint 15)
im on mint now, but i don't know a thing about it, or Linux.
ive downloaded a couple packs of heimdall, but i canot fugure out how to install them or anything at that matter... been at this for about 24 hours now, google helps a bit but im am lost! im spectaculare at copy and past but im missing things to make all the comands run right and i serch and download different "things" (such as libusb, don't even know what to call them lol) but cant figure out the commands to install, im probably not even putting them in the proper place....

so any how, ill take all the help i can get in this Linux matter, i will keep messing with it and will figure it out but any thing to help the learning curve will be most appreciated :)

Smith, I'm at work till 9:00 est. If you will be up later id be willing to get on a chat and help you install it. it'd be much easier to show you real time rather than posting in AF. Lemme know where is best for you. If not ill be off tomorrow..

well i got tired of Linux for the evening... i am learning, but it is not what im used to.
so i went back to windows and was able to pull the PIT info from my phone.

now to figure out how add it to the odin file along with all the partitions ;)

Create a .zip file with these separate files inside
PDA.tar (actual firmware)
Sgs3BST.pit
Odin.exe
maybe latest samsung drivers too

And post the zip like that.
Users would just run odin.exe
select pda button and choose PDA.tar from the zip
Then select pit button and choose sgs3BST.pit
Check the repartition checkbox and hit start

The pit file is a binary file that tells odin how the partitions are setup and what each partition id is.. so odin knows where to put recovery, boot, system, cache and so on

I assume mostly stock means a stock TW ROM is on the phone? Go to your dialer and type in ##72786# and let it reboot on its own. This will reset PRL and profile and hopefully restore all your phone info.

If that doesn't work go to the ROM/MOD/etc thread and look for modems.

http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6155020

There are Sprint modems there but I have also posted the MG2 original Boost modem I pulled off my phone. You will need the modem restore zip.

Modem restore zip download

I have written instructions on how to restore your modem along with the Boost MG2 modem download.

There is also a section and tutorial on how to restore or change a PRL.

I would definitely try what Struckn recommended 1st. If that doesn't work then you can restore the modem and PRL yourself.

Let us know if you get it fixed. If not, we can figure out a time and I will be more than happy to walk you through step by step via telephone if need be. There's no doubt in my mind we can get your phone working again. I've seen this happen before. :)

Thanks for all the help, I ended up full stock restore triangle away, and sent off to samsung hope they can work their magic.

Have not heard anything they said allow 2 weeks. They did receive the phone so im sure I would have received an email if they found something "wrong".

So I'm not sure it this is the forum...I bought a boost mobile SPH-L710 and rooted it before I activated it. I have beanstalk 4.4.2 installed and running. Problem is now I cannot activate boost service. What do i need to do to step my phone down to be able to activate it?

Well the easiest way would be 2 flash one of your backups that hopefully did of stock before you put in being stock then activate your phone your profile your PRL on all that good stuff and then you can go back to being stock.

If you did not use a backup then you might have to flash A TouchWiz based rom or you can use Odin.

I didn't do a stock back up. What file would I use to get it back? I have a back up of where I am at now. I have mobile odin and desktop odin. Thanks again.
