Root [Boost Mobile] Replacement phone question.

I want to run by what i Plan on doing and see if you guys have any suggestions. Replacing this defective one tomorrow. First I am going to obv backup everything w. titanium backup, remove my memory card, insert the 2gig stock one, then try to un root. To unroot i'll be using the handset update tool, and click yes even though i already have current firmware. Then do factory reset on phone. From what i've read here I believe that would remove all traces of it being rooted. When I receive the new phone, Im guessing I should root it first before putting my sd card back in. Then pop in my card, and restore? I guess download titanium backup again and then restore all? Will this leave it fully functional or does my sd card have some sort of hidden config/files linked to the phone's MEID itself where I may run into problems. Should I have to just download my apps again from market?/load from pc? then put my contacts/vids/ringers from sd back on? Another thought popped into my head, Is there something else/easier, I remember seeing something on titanium backup to compress/add to zip, should i involve that in my process? making a .zip of my backup?

Make sure you back up user and system apps and data with titanium backup. Then restore after you root the new one. I would get the pro version of titanium, it makes the process super easy

+1 on titanium backup pro that's the best money I have ever spent. it even goes so far as to backup call logs and text messages so it is like nothing ever happened.

Since this thread was about my phone replacement, I got another defect w. this one, thankfully its only the charger ( i hope ), bad luck i must have w. these...First a defective headphone jack, now a charger w. the new one , well just the ACtoUSB adapter.
