Root [Boost Mobile] Return to Stock by ZTE?

MrBobo

Android Expert
I have been watching a couple threads to follow the progress towards being able to have a custom rom for the Warp.

A post by syntaxerror said that they had recovered from brick using ZTE's online upgrade tool. I am not sure exactly what it does or how it works, but it sounds promising as a way to get back to stock.

The tool is here:

Devices - ZTE USA

I was wondering if any of you smarter people could shed some light on this and whether it will be helpful somewhere in development for the Warp.

Well it helps in a way that if we screw up we have a way back. LOL:D

It wont take you back to stock, but it will take you to the most recent version...

looking at the update server it has 2 versions:

N860V1.0.0B12
N860V1.0.0B16

but I believe the shipping version is N860V1.0.0B06

To use it, you need to get it into FTM mode, but if you have installed ClockworkMod recovery that replaces FTM mode.
