I partitioned mine back on b08c but havnt since and iv had no issues and what is a dalvik i havnt cleared them before any flash i was goin to before this upcomming one but havnt decided. If i should why?
It doesn't look like anyone answered this question for you yet. I wanted to answer it but didn't quite know how to explain it so I found this on another thread. It explains it to me and reinforces that clearing Dalvik cache is important when changing ROMs so no leftover data remains to interfere with the new ROM building it's Dalvik for apps running in it's unique environment. I hope it helps you like it did me.

got an answer :)
dalvik cache is a program cache area for the program dalvik. Dalvik is a java based virtual machine that is the bases for running your programs (the ones that have the .apk extension). In order to make access times faster (because there's not JIT (just in time) compiler installed by default), the dalvik-cache is the result of dalvik doing a optimization of the running program. Sounds confusing. It's similar to the prefetch files in Windows.

PS: I didn't know how to put a link to this in a post so that's why I just cut-and-pasted it. :) :)

ok so after the partition format i'm pretty stable I got a freeze up with a red led this morning after being stable all night but i think its a app i was using (magiclocker) push my phone over the edge also does using the feature in tt backup call integrate delvik into ROM sys hurt anything? I did that for the hell of it and its seemed to stabilize it further

Ill look into this

I think i might delete dalviks when the new flash is ready if its already running this stable for me with them id like to see how it is without

So it will automaticly do it?
You should make it set perms and delete cache partition by itself to so its an easier install to be more apealing to other. If thats even possible
