Are you on the right siyah version for your phone and Android version mate? Did you wipe cache and dalvik?

What would be the difference a stock kernel vs the boeffla kernel.

Pretty sure I used siyah on 4.3? I certainly did on 4.2.

I'm on 4.3 I just tried to install boeffla kernel and hard bricked my phone had to take it back to the shop and get it replaced, it was hard bricked. I installed Boeffla-Kernel 5.2 ....... I'm Android 4.3 and it hard bricked ftw...

I don't think those kernels are compatible with the Boost Mobile S3 are they?
Perhaps that's why the phone got wonky?
