Root [Boost Mobile] Tri-Band S3 (SPH-L710T)

Everyone,

The baseband borks on those builds because the three modems are not put into the install script. They aren't symlinked to use our modem. Have the dev of the rom u want, to have him resync with cm because the fix was uploaded to cm last night. He should be able to build then and everything works correctly. As far as I know the fix was up streamed last night. It's still currently a work in progress with the lollipop, camera is borked but everything else seems to be working for it. Waiting for all the technical kinks to still get worked out.

Regards,
Sean

My apologies guys. They hadn't up streamed it just yet and I just found out. I guess there seeing errors and i have been experiencing reboots. Should have something in the next few days. Maybe even tonight.

Latest CM12 will not have baseband fixed yet. Neither the rotation. The rotation was messed up on the 5.0 that they are having me test. I guess the main coder guy is out for the night taking care of other things. He will be back on tomorrow from what it seems like. They all are anxious to get it fully working and I will keep you all updated as much as possible. I will let you know when they upstream it to cm so then the devs you want to have fix the baseband can by syncing with cm changes.

just as a question im not sure about this but.
if this phone L710T uses triband for communication.
my question would be is, does all 3 bands have to be working in order f0r this phone to be functional?
and could it be modded to use just 1 of the bands or does each band of communication have its own separate
purpose for like 1 is gps 2 is cell and 3 for whatever else ?
wasn't sure about this but just thought to ask.

More like a happy medium
could we toss out 2 of the bands and use 1 <-by choosing the system to ignore requests from the other 2?
or could we some how bridge 3 into 1 band <- forcing the system to recognise the 3 as 1 band? not sure if that is poss?
I'am on a guess you could some how write to these controllers and tell it :( your not a triband you are a single band and you will run L710 :Dlmao...

System already recognizes all three bands as one band, and that "band" is the whole 4G LTE radio. That's what the modem is for. Once you have one of them you have all three. The "tri-band" three bands are simply different frequencies for the LTE radio. This model adds a new band for Sprint's new "Spark" technology that's supposed to be faster or something.

im currently testing a Liquid Smooth beta that works on the Sph-L710T variant only because the Dev of the rom for the D2spr has this model too so he's one of our devs now he sent me a super beta alpha build to test and it boots now im sending him the info of what works and so on so he will get on to fixing those things :)

Are you saying the cm team is working on this? If they are that is awesome! Sorry for asking.... Anybody working on cm12 for the sph-l710t is awesome anyway! Thanks

No Jerry,

The way that Teams work is they download and upload their information to CM. If any team uploads a fix to something wide known thats effecting a device then everyone that downloads from CM repo's (or something like that) gets the fix as well, so it saves time for all developers and teams. So the actual Cyanogen team may not be but other devs and teams are that are using CM source. A couple days from now I'm expecting a release of 5.0 for our phone, and as well as a recovery meant for our phone. I already have the recovery but have been told to wait until further testing is done. Just because we have a recovery means we can flash the D2Spr and D2LTE's we wont be able to flash those anymore because this recovery is specific to our device the SPH-L710T. Until the team completes and finalizes this 5.0 the recovery wont' be released. No need to release it if nothing can be flashed to it ya know.

Thanks for the update! I was unaware anybody was really working on developing cm12 and a custom recovery for the SPH-L710T. You don't know how helpful you have been :) Lol I have only built 1 rom in my Android career.....

Thank you good sir just wasn't sure how it all pulled together.
Believe me if there was anything I knew that would help I would as for you guys totally rock this T-Model out of the ball park.. :) You guys are really chipping away at this.
I have a personal friend who works for a certain company im not allowed to say who.
but I will be asking loads of questions to him, See what he is able to dig up???? ;);) catch my drift.
I didn't want to just walk in and be like hey brutha btw how and what does this do and not know the right questions to ask, He be like hua what ua? but if I go in and with some knowledge he is more likely to let up on somethings means I Am talking his language. I really would like to see this L710T take off by christmas.. Theme this Rom Grinch Stole Christmas LoL .....:p:D Red Green and White

At this rate now that I have had time to read up in this thread more there is way more break through then what I thought there was... and wow my god at this rate I actually feel there will be way more than expected..

Thank you guys for all of the hard work you bring to the table I only wish I could do more on my end to make somethings happen. you guys rule

Thank you wetbiker
I was only trying to help out but means everything I posted was already mentioned
I felt it was appropriate to remove it all so I didn't leave confusion.
Thank you as always for helping out and providing most updated info.
I wasn't sure.

Personally I feel the T model should be called the T-Virus LoL.

I just mentioned this in another thread. It looks as though the original S3 model is being phased out and the T model is taking its place. Original S3 phones being sent in for warranty are being replaced with T models. With that happening, it's only a matter of time before before the T model starts seeing more and more development.

I remember when the 1st post was made in this section concerning the T model. Hardly anyone even knew anything about the model then. Now look how many people have the tri-band and are posting. The number of people with T model phones is growing and growing quickly.

Hi,

new to the S3 !! ( Well, S3 Triband )

For now, I really don't need a custom ROM, but custom recovery and mostly important ROOT ( have lots of apps that require root ! ) !

Read through all I could find and downloaded Philz recovery and flashable SuperSU zip.... However, I don't know, nor have I found what the correct version of ODIN is I need to use.

Anyone has a link to the Odin download for the SPH-L710T ?

Also, what are the correct rooting steps ?

In some thread I read :
1. get into DOWNLOAD
2. Install Philz recovery
3. Reboot phone and install SuperSU from PlayStore

other threads saying :

1. get into DOWNLOAD
2. Install Philz recovery
3. Reboot back into recovery and flas SuperSU zip and then reboot

I am confused right now on what is the correct procedure. Can someone point me to the correct procedure on how to root the SPH-L710T ( the Triband version ) ? As I said, I don't need a custom ROM right now....

Thanks a bunch,

Xmas greetings,

VCE

I did the first method but both work. Then try Conquest singularity its a great ROM.Oh and don't forget to flash the kernel to fix the rotation.

Thanks for the reply......

Do you have a link to the Conquest singularity ROM as well as the kernel ?

Thanks..... :)
