Root [Boost Mobile] Uot kitchen

look in the apk's drawable-hdpi folder there should be a bunch of icons in that folder no matter what apk your looking at (more or less). Just scroll through the folder where you can look at the thumbnails and you should be able to spot them.

What exactly do i do with them?

The files need to be renamed, and uot puts them into the framewirk instead of systemui. They are sys_stat something, just download one of my themes and check out the systemui, extract with winrar, goto /res/drawable-hdpi, view the folder as thumbnails, and you can see the files i changed. If I get time later I'll throw a zip up of the files i used, you would just have to copy the titles, UOT doesn't title them correctly eithet

Title them correctly, then just open up winrar and click and drag them into the correct folder in the systemui

This is the link for the folder on my dropbox that has correctly titled and changed signal files, like i said open up systemui in winrar, goto goto /res/drawable-hdpi and click and drag the files there. They must be titled the same as I have them

So are you saying you can make a theme from uot, go in system framework rename the files then move them to system ui?

I have run into a problem and can't get it to fix and I'm hoping I can get some help so I can get my phone back to operational tonight. I've made a lot of themes but decided to change the bootanimation for the first time a bit ago. That said now it get's stuck when booting up with the bootanimation I created and I can't get the new animation to go away. I've gone back and installed zip from sd shin's intermediate update, didn't go away. I went back in and installed from zip the 1.5.1c beta to hopefully get shin's animation again, didn't work. I'd rather not have to do a system restore to the beta so I don't have to lose all of my profile settings. Any advice to get this back to where I can get shin's animation back without having to start fresh again? I'm also wondering if I can just go into whatever root file the bootanimation is located but don't know exactly how/where to do it. Any help would be AWESOME and greatly appreciated. Good learning experience for me too.

Well you could extract his boot ani from the ROM and manually place it is system/media

I went ahead and did a restore to 1.5 and it still had the new animation however, it loaded to the homescreen. So I went in and am now trying to do an sd install to 1.5.1c beta, however, the new animation is stuck again and it should have gone away when I went to 1.5b because that's the one shin put his bootanimation into. So is there a possibility that kitchen corrupted the boot animation with their's so it's getting stuck? Where are the bootanimations located and can I modify them from the recovery screen? Man, I need help. LOL

I don't know what files do what and don't know where they're located. This sux and all because of a stupid boot animation

Update: I figured it out. When you use a bootani from Kitchen it places the zip in specific folders depending on what type of ROM you tell it you have. All I did was go into the file it was stored while on 1.5b and deleted it. It was running along with Shin's bootani and causing a conflict freeze. Duh on me but hey, I learned something! Thanks for getting my head on the right track Apollo

Funny thing is i was just about to say that uot tends to put things in the wrong place glad you figured it out :)

Okay so i dont have access to a computer so is there.anyone who could fix the signal bars for me? Ill send you the zip file i had to make some edits to the theme anyhow if anyone can do it it would be greatly appreciated :)

I am trying to figure it out, when I get it. I'll help you

As far as i know its easy theres a tool on xda called apktools or something like that that will let you extract it and zip it back up into a apk all you have to do is take the signal bars oit of the frameworkres rename them properly as downthemachine has them named and put them into the systemui and it should work like a charm

For stock roms UOT puts the signal files in system.ui but doesn't name them correctly. If you have a UOT zip you can rename the files within the zip... Do not extract. The original files are sys_stat_signal6_0.png to 6_0.png. There are 15 original signal files. Just rename from within the zip then flash to your warp
