Root [Boost Mobile] What is glitch kernel? :o

I came across a thread which read "glitch kernel" is it something I would want? I hear that a custom kernel or something let's you overclock. I want to overclock because my warp lags when playing HD games and stuff. I would really like to boost the performance. Can someone give me simple instructions on how to get it? Will overclocking effect battery life? I'm still new to rooting and stuff. By the way I'm running on the warp cream sandwich rom. Thanks in advanced for the help! :)
 
Yes it a awesome kernel made by downthemachine he has provided it in one of the op's up here it allows you to over clock up to 1.7 and is compatible with warp cream just download put zip on SD card flash in cwm reboot then enjoy
 
Do i have to clear cache? Dalvik.cache? Factory reset? I don't have a backup so should I back everything up via cwm? So I download the zip>install zip from sd card? Or install update from sd card?

You should make a backup anytime you flash something.
Install zip from SD
Select file
Select yes
Then wipe dalvik and normal cache.
 
I installed the kernel and the boot image was different. Will this kernel improve gaming performance? By the way, I chose the 1.4Ghz version.

Yes your gaming performance will improve especially with swap since you will technically have more ram at your disposal
 
I have noticed some lag after flashing the kernel. Why is this? And how do I fix this?
